I'm having my driving lessons this week, and I must say it's easier than I thought it would be..

depends what you drive. I drive a 2000 Celica GTS, it's my second car my first was a 1991 Celica ST. Love both cars. But the GTS has way better speedBeen driving since 1992. I hate it.

Driving is about as easy as it gets. Now just don't get yourself killed, mmkay.Nerd_Man
No, no. You see, you can do EVERYTHING right, never speed, never change lanes without looking over your shoulder and signaling, and STILL DIE because SOMEONE ELSE was being STUPID.
I've been in 4 accidents since I started driving, NOT ONE was my fault.

I never do over the speed limit so speed doesn't matter to me.
I'm not a car fan. I never got into cars and trucks and motorcycles or such. I look at a car the same way I look at a washing machine: it's a device to let me do things.

Oh the contray, mhm going from 0-60 in 4.5 seconds is awesome. Oh and you should go on a track, hella fun.Well here in southern california it's basically a must. It's pretty necessary where I live too. There isn't a lot for public transportation (aside from one bus system -- no subways) and there are important places located all over town.[QUOTE="t3hrubikscube"]Yeah, but I absolutely hate it and avoid it whenever I can. When I want to have some 'motorized' fun, I go fly airplanes. Cars are so 2D.

Oh I know. I was actually thinking of mentioning how stupid other drivers can be in my post, but then I was like "Naw, he can learn it the hard way."[QUOTE="br0kenrabbit"][QUOTE="Highgear56"] depends what you drive. Agreed, I hate to say it but I'm always over the speed limit by 5 or 10, my college town is pretty much in the middle of nowhere so when I leave the town I zip down the country around 90... But I mean if I'm driving thru busy streets I'm not stupid I drive careful and lawful.Yes, I do. I've been driving for nearly 8 years now. I hope to at some point in the near future (within the next year) get my Class 1 license and air-brake certification so I can start driving trucks. I'm an academic at heart, but the lure of pulling big loads from destination to destination has me fascinated.
been driving since 03, its cool, but i hate all the new drivers that just got their license, cause they're terrible drivers

Can't imagine using the public transportation with all the druggies and criminals using it. Much more convenient to endure a little bad traffic sometimes than plan my schedule around bus and train times.[QUOTE="t3hrubikscube"]Yeah, but I absolutely hate it and avoid it whenever I can. Well here in southern california it's basically a must. I live in SoCal, and I don't mind the driving. It's different, sure -- but if you're just vigilant about all your surroundings, you should be fine.[QUOTE="t3hrubikscube"]Yeah, but I absolutely hate it and avoid it whenever I can. D:edwise18

Oh I know. I was actually thinking of mentioning how stupid other drivers can be in my post, but then I was like "Naw, he can learn it the hard way."I wouldn't mind driving if everyone followed the rules. Everything would be neat and orderly then. But you have people who think the posted speed limit +10mph is the proper speed, people who move over two or more lanes at once, people who cut you off, people who tailgate, people running redlights, people coming over into your lane without looking, people not signaling lane changes and turns, etc. etc. etc.
Driving sucks. And it's because people are arrogant, ignorant, self-absorbed, and just plain stupid.

Oh I know about the speed thing. Where I live, it seems like when the posted sign says MAXIMUM speed limit, it really means minimum to most people. It really annoys me.Haha. I too have thought about getting a commercial class driving license. It also serves as a good backup job. Like if you're ever laid off or need a job you could apply to be a driver of some kind and have a better chance at getting that job because of the higher class license.Yes, I do. Yeah, I hear ya. It'd be nice to get the license then pretty much enter the market and start making the big bucks right away. By the way what's OTR? Haha.edwise18
Well I don't think driving is something you have to learn to do, it's just something you have to learn to get better at (automatic anyways :P) Like playing the guitar. You know that your fingers do this and that. You just have to learn the technique and get better at it.I just a scooter I know how to operate. I don't know how to drive a car yet.

yeah been driving for a few years now. Driving in LA during rush hour is no fun thoughandyboiiiyeah its a major burn
Really? Wow that's cool. I've been thinking of getting one.Thanks.[QUOTE="topsemag55"]
Yes, I know how to drive: I have a Class A Commercial driver's license.:)
edwise18
The 10-week course I attended cost me $1,000 and the license was $50.00 (more if you have add-ons such as Hazmat, Doubles, etc.).
But big rigs are fun to drive: the one I most enjoyed was a Peterbilt that had a 600-HP Cat engine, coupled to an 18-speed RoadRanger transmission.
Been driving for a couple years and it's really good. Just don't get into the habit of drink-driving, or driving after a night of drinking, it's not good ...
And also, stay away from cops. So far the only accident I've had was caused by them ... NSW Police Force FTW!
