and she had this stunned expression on her face and was like "I thought we were already in a relationship.." and I had no idea how to reply because she was pretty pissed about the fact that she considered me her boyfriend and not vice versa... What was I supposed to say?

Seems to me that you're either making the stuff you said at the OP up or you really have a hard time defining what a relationship is to you. The making-out is the obvious reason alone, I dunno about you but I think she has every right to be pissed.

Is she in highschool, by any chance? The only qualification needed to become "in a relationship" in highschool is that you both like each other. If she likes you and you like her, that means you're together. XilePrincess

I'm in the exact opposite situation. Girl keeps getting more and more serious, physically and what-not, and she still refuses to say we are exclusive (we use the words boyfriend/girlfriend, but I think it is title only). Not sure exactly what to think about that. Oh well, in a way it's a good thing.

Well shes dumb. If you never actually asked her to be your girlfriend before hand then you were not actually in a relationship.
