So I bought that class IIIb laser pointer

So I bought that class IIIb 50mW laser pointer from eBay. It's pretty cool, especially at night when you can clearly see the green beam. Yesterday I was walking around my neighbourhood and pointing the laser beam across the road (not at the cars but just fr fun to see how people hit break when they see the beam). But very soon I realized that the laser doesn't work at temperatures below 15 celcius. Also my batteries died very quickly. I tried other batteries but they died in like 5 minutes and after that the beam started to dim. I tryed rechargeable batteries but the laser couldn't turn on! WTH? Is it some rip off or what?

PS I am gonna try some fancy alkaline batteries and if that doesn't work I'll send it back for refund

isnt it illegal to have anything over 5mW in th US?

Nah, who told you that? The only thing this laser can do is blow up a baloon and blind you if you stare at it for several minutes

If you hold it there for a while it can.
