It's 4 in the morning and I can't sleep. It's like this almost every night. I can NEVER sleep. It's really annoying. Do you know of anything I can do to get me to sleep better?

Drink warm milk, then go to bed?

You do realize that short of a sleep disorder, the best thing to do is just relax, try to turn your mind off, adjust your comfort level (i.e., temperature, position, ect.) and GO TO BED. If you are up posting about how tired you are, you won't fall asleep.

You could try drinking a glass of warm milk. Also if you're really desperate then maybe eat some sugary things to get a sugar rush and just wait until you crash.

Not at all. I often fall prey to getting up and doing stuff because I can't fall asleep. Then two hours later I always kick myself (methaphorically speaking) for not staying in bed. Right now I should be in bed, but I ate some damned greasy chips late at night and am afraid of heartburn (I get acid reflux real bad @ night sometimes), and also I watched King of Kong ...

Do you hear that? It's the sound of me kicking myself. Where's the Tums ... ?

About a year ago i had the same problem. I would lay in my bed, but not sleep. Turns out the reason was i drank too much sugary drinks, and had a lot on my mind. These days i go to sleep about 12 at night, and usually fall asleep between 20-60 minutes.

Sleeping pills exist for those who have problems sleeping. For someone who "can never sleep" it's kind of weird not to have tried this.

Well, when my mum was on them she would sleep in for work. Eventually she started sleeping better, and didn't need pills. I'm not saying never use them, but it should be a last resort.

If you are of legal age, drink alocholic beverages. My friend who can't sleep says it works for him, ( keeps drinking beer until he passes out ) and I guess it could in a way... :|

Another suggestion TC. My mum sometimes has a small glass of whisky with lemonade. She says this helps her relax, and sleep much better. Maybe you could try it?

Get some sleeping pills and take it a hour before you want to go to bed every night. To fix your schedule you need to sleep for like 4-5 hours and stay up till about 8pm then fall asleep and wake up around 5-6ish and your schedule should fix itself from there.

Just don't sleep at all for one night and you'll get sleep the next. Stop stressing out about this stuff, it helps too.
