For as long as I can remember ppl have been telling me to watch it and every time I try I just could not get into it. I thought it was slow and boring. I finally saw the whole thing.

I don't know whether it was a good day or something but it wasn't boring or slow. I thought it was really good actually. Some parts were still boring like when whats his name meets his wife in Italy, but for the most part I thought it was interesting.

I give it a 8.5/10

Man I find it interesting from beginning to end. Same with Part II; 6 hours of perfectly enjoyable, compelling cinema. Haven't seen Part III though. Anyway, glad you enjoyed it at last.

Best movie of all-time.....every scene is a classic.

My favorite scene is when Michael becomes Godfather during the church ceremony at the same time his men put all the other families in disarray with key hits, not to mention taking out Moe Greene for his insolence.

10/10

My favorite scene was at the end when they close the door and the men are kissing his hands as the wife looks in the room. Lets you know so many things at once. 1) she doesn't know the truth 2) she doesn't know he lied to her earlier in the movie 3) Micheal is willing to lie to her and not regret it 4) shes not important enough to know the truth and it signifies the new head of the family. Such a great scene.

The pacing is a little slower than what modern audiences are used to, no doubt there, but I still do view it as a masterpiece and one of the great movies of all time.

It has some boring parts, but is hardly a bad thing since the whole movie is great, maybe it could be a little less long to avoid some of the boring parts, then again, is a really, really good movie.

I'm not a fan of the film. It is fairly boring and slow, Michaels character development really makes no sense, years seem to pass by without the movie really telling you which causes confusion...

I think it's a movie you savor more after it's actually over, like Apocalypse Now. You think "this is alright' when you watch it, but when you're thinking about it later you love it. That's at least how I am.

This sounds like what Peter Griffin said on one of the episodes...

Slow and boring you say...i disagree , it's very well written and directed , it's not one of the best movies just for nothing .

I've never seen it. I guess I haven't because I'm afraid I'll get bored or something, and then never want to watch it.

Although I did enjoy it and can see why so many people love it, I just can't bring myself to say it's absoultely great. I believe it's overrated, but definitely not bad. I'm just the kind of guy who prefers Goodfellas or even Casino to a film like The Godfather. The multiple assassination scene is awesome though :P

Eh, the film didn't do much for me.

EDIT: It had great acting, but overall, my issue was with the plot. It was too damn slow.

I don't see how anyone could not like it. It's about as close to perfect as you're going to find in the world of filmmaking. Very tightly written and acted with lots of classic and iconic scenes and pieces of dialogue.

I particularly like the restaurant assassination scene, and all of the prequel stuff with DeNiro in part 2.

Great film, but the fanbase has put it on this pedestal that is only set to disappoint most that have never seen it, doing the film a disservice.

I couldn't get past Michael essentially going from some happy go lucky kinda guy to essentially a psychotic killer in the span of a half hour.

It's just not a movie I cared for. Goodfellas is superior to it in every way possible.

I've still, never seen this movie. I know I should since I am a movie lover. I would join that film appreciation union but I think they might be into too much of that black and white French stuff that ends with FIN and they all smell of cabbage and read poetry while smoking wild cherry tobacco from a pipe next to a grandfather clock

IMO it's the most overrated film I've seen, I only really watched just over a half of it before I fell asleep though.
