Some nice bush in that film. I'm a big fan of Jennifer Connelly.

lol remember the strip club scene?
I was just thinking about that film today. Love the film, so depressing. It has such a disturbing ending I really can't watch it too often, but it's really good.
Hi, I just watched a movie. Let me know what you think.Amber084I know right? Anyways I thought he meant the song
There was nothing positive about it and it probably wanted to be that way. It's a punishment to watch it.
It was kind of like watching a baby fall apart. It's not fun, it's just disgusting.
the film isn't what i would consider an accurate portrayal though, its a very surreal portrayal of heroin and uppers in a weird little story. tothink that everyone who does drugs will end up like that is a gross exaggeration though.

And it hits like every cliché in the book. Pawning your mom's TV, prostituting yourself, getting thrown in a southern prison full of sexual predators, it's like they took every exaggeration meant to scare kids away from drugs and put it into film form.
Oh yeah, forgot getting sent to the crazy house, that one takes the cake.

I dunno, I thought those were all pretty standard before, what year was it made, 01 04?

The book was written in '78.Trainspotting was better and much more entertaining.

I was about to say this, but I guess I'll just quote you in agreement instead.
Requiem is worth watching if you've never seen it.

Didn't it kind of create the cliches, though?harashawn

The book was written in '78.Which is when most of those activities were becoming clichés anyways. I dunno, maybe the book was responsible for the clichés, doesn't mean it feels any less clichéd when I watch it now.
This, it was ok, some seemed exaggerated, but i don't get how people said "oh man that movie was tough! I wanted to cry afterword"Trainspotting was better and much more entertaining.

I think you had to be on acid to "get it"I think it's overrated *puts up flame shield* I generally find any film that tries to tackle drug addiction with surreal filmography uninteresting, I still can't understand what people like about Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

It was a good film. I own it and find it to be an interesting look at drug addiction and social ties.
I don't know if I like "Requiem" or "Trainspotting" better. I think I need to go rent "Trainspotting" again.
I would suggest it for anybody who enjoyed "Requiem for a Dream."

What, is being on acid some sort of thing where you suddenly come into synch with what's going on in the movie and it all starts to make sense, or is just that the movie has trippy visuals and only people on acid find it entertaining, like a Pink Floyd video?
Agreed. While Requiem for a dream is good I think Trainspotting is easily the better film.Trainspotting was better and much more entertaining.

There is so much energy and styIe in that film. Its quite mesmerising in capturing the rush. Some very disturbing images too. I didn't think it was cliche for a second because of the direction but also the juxtaposition between the movement of the couple against the internal disruption of the mother. biggest_loserFAU member right?

Didn't take long..... Anyway, I thought it was a great movie, didn't sugar-coat the effects of what drugs can do at all, like so many other films do.the film isn't what i would consider an accurate portrayal though, its a very surreal portrayal of heroin and uppers in a weird little story. tothink that everyone who does drugs will end up like that is a gross exaggeration though.
