I think the scenario of the wheel never being invented carries the implication that there was not "intelligent" life on Earth with opposable thumbs for any extended period of time.
Ergo, humanity would not exist today.
That scene in Pirates Dead Man's Chest would've never happened. :P
Probably more walking or horse-back riding.Â

Thank goodness I use ships. :PBut arent horsez your friends :o:?Sim_genius
They were...until the accident....horses are tricksters!!!!
Well, that implies other circumstances which would have to have come into place to cause the wheel to never be invented in the first place. In order for the wheel to not exist in it's current form mankind would have to either not exist (leaving less intelligent races incapable of making simple tools in it's place) or not be intelligent enough to utilize simple tools. Since intelligence and the adaptability that come with it are the only remarkable traits humanity has, I think it's safe to say we would be ****ed.
Basically, Earth would be pretty much the same except for the complete lack of humanity, which may very well be a good thing.
very different, but it also would be different if we would have invented electricity 2000 years ago, or whateverwklzip
we would be stupid :oSim_genius
Looks like you used the wrong tense, there. :P
If the wheel wasn't invented than perhaps we would have went directly to hovercraft or jet engines instead of wasting time on dated technology.

Thanking me doesn't mean you have to pay me any royalties when your book makes the ranks of a top seller, but that would be nice. ;)

OMFG that scene was awesome. Can't wait for At Worlds End. The wheel would still have been invented even if it wasnt invented at that time.Â
...all those yeeears ago....what do you think life would be like today?groovdafiedBetter than what it is now
I think it would just be invented later...or we would have bred more horses...or we would....{can't think of anything}...{GASP}
Cheese Wheels wouldnt EXIST. OH MY GOD! {jumps out window in panic}Â
MY LIFE WOULD HAVE NO MEANING WITHOUT THE WHEEL.proteKYFMWould you be able to survive if this was the case?

Inventended. That's when you intend to invent something but you don't. I think you came up with a new word.
Maddox has a good quote. "If women ran the world, we'd still be searching for the wheel".
So I guess that would mean the world was run by women. At least designer shoes would have been inventended early on.

But the wheel did not develop the human, so it wont matter.
