Is it just me or when you step out of the shower, your skin is really really dry. Like so dry that if you weren't careful, you could pick off your epidermis by rubbing against your bath towel? I've had this problem for a long time that my skin is incredibly dry just after a shower and it's getting annoying now. I just got used to putting on alot of moisturizer afterwards but this is getting weird... Any tips on what I should use to keep my skin moist? I take fifteen to twenty minute hot showers with Irish Spring and Ivory soap...

Good god I love internet annonymity.

No it really doesn't sound too bad.Is your soap a brick of soap? That could bea cause.Bricks of soap can really rough up your skin. They make you more pruney too.I don't know.Maybe you just have a lot of dead skin on you though.

could be your soap, or your water.

No, I've never had that happen. My skin dries out when I'm in a pool, though. Try a different soap.

I've had similar problems but only in certain areas. Try just drip drying, it's better for your skin than towel drying.

Maybe you're using water that's too hot. Long exposure to hot water causes skin to dry up easily once you come out of the shower. It's like when you get a burn on your skin. Over the next few days, the burnt skin will slowly peel until a fresh layer is grown.

The lye in the soap could be causing it. That's part of the reason that I've switched to body wash. And body wash is cooler.... :)
