So, My Chemical Romance just broke up, and The Strokes have a new album...

But do we care, OT? These bands of the 00's havent put out much good in the past few years. Bloc Party/The Killers released OK records, and The Strokes have been putting out junk for awhile.

Wish there were more options today...not sure what happened to rock. Seems all the good bands have disbanded or gone downhill, and there are no new musicians replacing them. Haven't purchased a new album in three+ years. Help me... :(

Jesus... I have one friend who is a massive fan of MCR. She actually cried for days when Mitch whatshisname from Suicide Silence died, I dunno how she's going to react to this. I used to like them back in my mallgoth days, but I don't really care that they broke up.XilePrincess

Man, Bloc's newest was kinda rough new start. Like every other track is so awkward and halfassed.

I liked MCR...now I'm a bit sad.

I must be in the minority then as I am actually pretty bummed out that they've split (the Strokes I couldn't give a rats's a** about). They were never my favourite band but they produced so many inspirational songs and they gave amazing live performances. I'll definitely be seething from this news for a while :cry:

For some reason I thought MCR had disbanded a few years ago. I guess I confused them with someone else. 

I used to like MCR before they went all crappy, but now I really don't care.

Well it has been YEARS since they released their last album....

Anyways, anyone know what caused the split? The band had been making serious bank I am sure so I am curious as to what would cause them to leave that behind.

That kind of sucks. Their first two albums were on repeat during middle school.

Angles can go to hell. I didnt think there were ANY redeemable tracks beyond the single "Under cover of darkness". I think its horrendous. Come on, they will never beat "Is This It?". Never going to happen.
