Because I like to play my 360... But the thing is, when I do play it's 80% of the time it's with my wife.
But whenever I am over at the in laws house the Mother tells me I need to put it up and grow out of it and there is more important things in life.
I mean honestly, if I had the money I would go do MMA in my spare time... But I don't... And I've tried explaining that to her.
I work at Game Stop in the mall lol...
So what is your opinion on this or have any of youexperienced a similar situation?

I think it's your mother-in-law who needs to grow up and realize that not everyone enjoys the same things.

My response to that is..life is short, you have to enjoy it, do what you want to do, not always wasting it on these "more important" things.:P

If she crochets or knits, or even watches television, tell her that her time is better spent doing something productive. Honestly, videogames aren't any more time-wasters than television or whatnot.

I really just think she thinks I spend every waking moment playing Video Games when really I'll play maybe 5 days out of the week for 2 hours if nothing is going on. Sometimes I only play for half an hour and quit.

Your Ma in law sounds like one of those that if you walked on water, your still not good enough for her daughter. If your wife is not complaining, then who cares what others have to say.

She's your mother-in-law, it's kinda her job to criticize everything you do. You just keep doing what you're doing and don't let what she's says get to you. After all, if most of the time your time spent gaming is with your wife, and she doesn't mind it, then what should it matter what the in-law says?? You're keeping your wife happy, and you're both doing something together that you obviously both enjoy. That's what's most important.

Well since she is probably in her 50s or 60s. (if shes ur mother in law) Then she is probably under the impression that video games are just for little kids. My dad was the same way.(he's in his 60s) He also bugged me about how much time i spent on something so "worthless". It didnt hit him that video games arent just for 8 year olds until one of his good friends(also my basketball coach) plays halo regularly with his wife. Then my sis got a wii. And he thought being able to golf on it was crazy. His opinion on them has changed alot.

there's no what if, she's a mother in law. that IS her job.

I am in a similar situation TC, however it is my mother, and the "more important things" she is referring to is my fiance. Video games are an extremely large and growing industry, and I've realized that there is just no convincing people like this. It's not a fault of theirs, they are just from a different, more traditional time. As men we are supposed to give up the "toys", or at least change them to power drills and drywall, in their eyes. I brush it off, I'm not going to change and neither is she.
