I've had a fantastic end to the decade, wish I could say the same for the start of it. Thanks for asking.

I can't complain, hopefully the next ones are better though, and they should be with the gaming systems getting better and better. :)

Well, I've lived roughly half of my life in this decade, and I have to say it was pretty lame.

Was pretty good. This year sucked though. I think we should call this decade the 00's. (pronounced like O's) TC, I like the sig.

I enjoyed it. Its basically the first decade that I remember start to finish all the way through. I was born in the late 80s so I dont recall a lot of the early 90s stuff as it happened.

I think I talk too much about my military life on here too much, but it sort of enveloped the past 6 years of my life. The first few were in highschool.

I gues the words to describe it would be meaningful. This decade will probably mean the most to me throughout my life.

Highs and lows. Family life my wife and I finally had kids (twins) we were never supposed to be able to, there's been extended family drama for a while. Professionally I was doing great, quit over an ethics concern I had, and have suffered moneywise since. My country (US), it's pretty much sucked. All in all a good decade, I've learned a lot.

It was the most important time of my life, as it is when I entered into the process of deconversion from christianity, and became an open minded free thinker. At the start of the decade I was paranoid, guilt ridden, grossly ignorant, and hated gay people because of their personal choices which harmed me in no way whatsoever. I have come so far, so very far. The best thing is, I still have a lot of road ahead of me, and I'm truly excited. Have a Happy New Year, and new decade, OT. I hope you guys last decade was as eventful and fulfilling as mine was.

At the risk of sounding like a sob story, this decade was absolutely awful. Other than my mother, my entire family (literally)has either died off or disowned me, I didn't look at a paper I signed in college when I was 16 and my step mom went to prison so now I'm "defaulted" on a $20,000 loan, I went to jail, my fiance was hit by a drunk driver and nearly died (snapped a few discs in her spine), her son was riding his bicycle and was hit by a car and he nearly died...

Though, on a positive note, I do have college credits, and last year I got $7,000 on my tax refund.

Pretty damn good, actually.

Graduated high school
Discovered the joys of sex
Graduated college
Discovered the joys of alcohol
Got a job I love
Completely (well, 95% of the way there) independent from my parents
Living on my own, handling my responsibilities.

Yup, the first decade of the 21st Century is the decade where I turned from a snot-nosed little kid into a man with responsibilites. Not trying to be dramatic.

you, good sir, are the most balanced individual I have met on these boards.

Most people would indeed come off as a sob story after you went through (a few posters come to mind, but I wont name) but that last sentence is a testament to your willpower.

Keep being an optimist...I was a pessimist for most of my life simply because I thought the world was cruel (and it is), but you can be a realist with a good attitude and the world will change to your feelings.

Thanks man. One person's life is really insignificant when put into perspective; it's really only significant to the individual. Not to sound mean or depressing, no one knows what another person goes through as far as how they handle situations psychologically, and it's really only safe to assume that there are others out there worse off than you, no matter how bad you have it.

exactly.

And it does not sound mean, simply because you (I hope lol) dont take pleasure from it. But there are, indeed, people far worse off than you, me, or anyone else on this board.

in short, if you have internet, chances are 70% of the world's population is worse off than you insocioeconomic terms. Of course that is a relative term because happiness is subjective, but still...it means something.

I mean, objectively my life is pretty crappy...I borderline qualify for welfare and low-income housing, I cant afford to really go anywhere, if my car breaks down I am essentially screwed, and if I am careful I can save 50 bucks a month for my savings. But you know what? I got a good job, good friends, and a good town to hang around in so life is pretty damn good relative to the rest of the world.

I hate to say it, because it sounds cocky, but the second I stopped taking crap from people and stopped being entirely self concious is the second my life turned to near-complete happiness.

Just show your love for your friends, family, and fellow human beings initially, dont take guff if they wrong you, and always remember to have some sort of fun and humor, and life will be good

seems most of you had a pretty good decade.

Up until ~2006 my life was "meh" to "**** me!". Then I switched schools, made new friends, became more independent of my parents, Studied Theology and Philosophy intently as a hobby, and got a sweet SUV for my first car. So the first part sucked, but the second part rocked out loud.

It's been a very eventful decade. I really did a lot of growing up in this decade. I entered 2000 as an 8-year-old kid, and I'm leaving 2009 as an 18-year-old 'adult.' There were a lot of high points and there were a lot of low points. I got to do and see a lot of interesting things. It's been an okay decade overall I guess. I've gone through some angst and some stupid problems over the past five years or so, but I haven't let those things completely ruin the decade for me.

I aged ten years and matured about three. Got my heart broken a couple of times, and transformed from a happy kid into this. Thinking about it now... I'm actually quite scared thinking about what the next decade will bring (good or bad).

Edit: Holy crap. Thinking about it even more... in the next 10 years I'll be hitting the ages where I should have finished Uni and have a career lined up, have a long term girlfriend, maybe even marry her and have kids and basically become a real adult. All of that would be fantastic, but it's scary thinking about it. I still have a hell of a lot of work to put in to achieve any of that though.

It's been farily good. Lost some friends ,made some friends, and stuff like that. Not really a bad year, but 2010 can be better.

+ I kept my job. Got married. Started a family. - I could have done with fewer economic issues. Also less war and such.

It was fair...

Good:

-graduated high school in 2003

-son was born in 2007

-graduated college in 2008

-got married 2009

-bought first truck 2009

Bad:

-grandpa passed away in 2004

-brother passed away in 2006

I guess the goods out weigh the bad but the mid 2000s were rough...
