So I'm going to be moving to Saskatchewan soon, probably tomorrow, (gonna be gone about three days) but I don't know if I should go to Regina or Saskatoon.

Both have great benefits, and me and my family have a nice place to live in either place, (not coincidentally, the two buildings we're thinking of moving to are owned by the same company) and there's lots to do in both places, but I would really rather move to Regina more, and not just because the name sounds like something I love.

But my mom and dad want to move to Saskatoon. My dad says he wants me to make an informed decision, and tell him which one I'd rather live in, knowing the pros and cons of each place. Unfortunately, knowing my dad, that means he wants me to make a decision, and if it's not the same as his, it's wrong.

So... the topic is basically this: Which city should I move to? According to my parents, Each city has almost the same stuff, but Regina has a football team.

And Saskatoon has more festivals and stuff. And I never say no to free food and outdoor concerts. Both places have shopping malls really close to the building we're going to live in. Both places have a nice park near us, virtually across the street.

Can anybody help me out with my decision? I ask here because I know of no more brilliant congregation of minds in the world than the folks at OT.

Never been to either place, but I worked with a guy who lived in Saskatoon and he absolutely loved it there and talked about it quite a bit. I mean, not in a "big city, totally happening" sort of way, but I figure you already know that...he just found it a really comforting, pleasant place. So yeah, I can't speak for Regina, but apparently Saskatoon is a great place if you're looking to live in central Canada.

Saskatoon is larger and there are more things to do/opportunities. The University is also of higher quality and much larger than Regina's if that means anything. Regina may be the capital but it's really just a title.

Everything east of the Rockies is a wasteland. I'm Canadian, I know. :P

Forgot about that. I have another friend who's at the University of Saskatoon and is enjoying it quite a bit, even if the weather is far more brutal than she's used to (she's from Vancouver).

I would go with Regina because Saskatoon has a bad crime rate, I know it's kind of a lame reason but my uncle has had some problems while living there too

That's one of the reasons I don't like Saskatoon.

I have a friend who lives in Regina, she says there is nothing to do and there is a high crime rate and a lot of homeless people. She tells me Saskatoon is better and wants to move there. Personally i dont know thats just what i hear about it.

Ya, there is more crime in Regina...it is more of a big city than Saskatoon...if you want to call any city in Saskatchewan big...
