Front page news articles are speaking of rallying stocks and growing optimism.

Dammit. I was hoping that it would all culminate in World War 3, or something spectacular like that. Now I suppose I'll have to wait until 2012 for the frivolity of global apocalypse.

AFAIK, we're going to see worse when inflation catches up.

Don't get your hopes up just yet.

Although we will see a rise this month or so, it will soon crash again

Well, i do think that consumer optimism is up a little bit, but this might be due to the G20 Summit, and Obama saying its the turning point of this economy

Hell no. The economy is still in the crapper, one good month won't change that.

Nah. Not over. Even in a recession, stocks will respond positively and negatively to things. We're nowhere close to being fully out of this thing. I still say two years minimum.

Hardly, the navy just got hit hard as in they just cut our flight hours here at my command and they're having cutbacks on what we can order etc.

No. It's going to take more than optimism to get out of this recession. The entire financial system is so screwy right now it's ridiculous.

I doubt it. This could be the start, but it'll probably drop again in the upcoming months. But as long as consumer confidence increases, people will be more likely to buy, and the recession will end sooner.
