I have a few problems. I don't really know her. In fact, I don't know her at all. She's not a random, but we haven't been acquainted.

I have a sister. My sister is 6years older than me. Her sister is 5 years older than her. Our sisters went to college together, and took the same classes. My sister has her sister on Facebook. I have my sister on Facebook. Her sister has her on Facebook.

I want to get into contact with her, 100% as a friend at this point. I just want to get to know her (cliche, but true; i've had enough of crazy girls).

On Facebook, due to the fact that it's a 2nd degree connection, there is no 'mutual friend' status..

How should I go about doing this?

Let me make a few things clear:

1) I want to do something, and I know i'm going to do something. I just don't know what, or how to get about doing it.

2) I'm not too worried about the outcome. Well, I want this to work out favorably, but that is more or less out of my control.

3) I'm not a creep. At least, I don't think I am. I have a crush on her, but i'm not obsessed, and I'm not going to stalk her if she doesn't accept. The only reasn why im thinking so much into this, is that i just want to make the best of what I have. For example, if saying "ABC" would increase my odds by 10%, why not?

Sorry for any typos. It's 8:30am here in Aus.

I'd avoid adding her on facebook before she knows who you are in real life. It's not going to work out well for you.

Trying to become more than friends or even just friends through FB with people you hardly know generally comes off as creepy (to me atleast). I'd much rather talk/meet someone new in person. Firstly, it shows that the person can hold a decent conversation in real life, sometimes a keyboard gives people a real confidence boost for some reason...

Eh, add her and become friends with her maybe.

I would rather meet someone in person, though.

That seems like a stretch, maybe if you met her irl once or twice but just online, she'd more then likely get the creeps.

Yeah so would I, but I have to make do with what I have, unless I can somehow get her sister to make the introduction.

Well it's likely that I'm migrating across the pacific. So unlikely. As for dignity and pride.. Eh.. I have disgraced myself by liking someone I hardly know. It feels stupid, and I would stop if I had the option to.

Ask your sister to ask her friend to arrange an outing wherein you can meet her sister (your crush).

As in you and your sister go to the pub, sisters's friend and crush turn up at pub, introductions abound.

There is one way this could work and only one way. You can't really add her on fb because you would be a random stranger and you would just kill any oportunities you could have with her. You have to actually met her on the street, seeing how you don't involve in any activities or she doesn't know you even exist this can be tough to achieve. You see most relationships start by meeting in a cafe or a club or just by accident on street. What anyone would have to do is force this "accident" or "casual encounter" and then get to know her. Still we would be reaching a dead end seeing how you can't still add her on facebook because you would be even creepier (imagine a random guy you met on the street adding you on facebook) it would not work

So what you have to do is find out if she volunteers anywhere or if you have the possibility of doing the same activity she does so that you actually become co workers or classmates and then you can add her on fb get her msn get her number and proceed from there. The fact that you can casually discover that both of your sisters went to the same school is a plus.

Or the easy way if your sister can cooperate you can ask her to arrange a meeting withher sister and shecan bringthe girl you likethen again we would have to evaluate the kind of friendship your sister and her sister had in school.

Were they friends TC or just acquantances?? If just acquanintances then this might not work and you would have to proceed with the first scenario I mentioned

This person speaks the truth, at least to the extent of my pretty awful experience with this sort of thing. Also, this sort of way down the line mutuality always seems to me that it will make things much more complicated than they have to be.

Good to know. But that look of surprised disgust on the woman's face - you can't fake that. I just hope the fellow was too drunk to notice and too hungover to care about it when he saw the photo the next morning.
