I didn't know her personally, but everyone's been talking about her today (she went to my school). I was thinking about this today, it may seem like a weird question, but do people that off themselves become a legend of sorts? I mean today everyone was trying to piece togather why she did and stuff like that, like it was some big mystery. what could drve someone to that point? just thinking about it is mind boggling. just crazy.

and no i'm not suicidal, but its an interesting topic.

This happened at my school, except it was a suicide pact of 4 girls, and then a couple copycat suicides after. 2 years later everyone still remembers it perfectly, they become almost a martyr to teenage angst in a weird sort of way

There isn't just one reason why people kill themselves-- there are several. Everyone has their own reason why they intended to do it.

Suicide displays either weakness, a craving for attention or completion and satisfaction of the persons life. In this case, it would be option one or two.

A friend of mine took his life back in the beginning of June. The guy had struggled his whole life with depression and self-esteem issues. He had gotten into a huge fight with a girl he had been seeing and in that emotional state he committed suicide. We are all very angry with him. That day, over 100 students had gathered in the library because the nurse's and guidance office were filled with people. The day after, no one that knew the kid came to school. As much of a hastey, unnecessary, and selfish thing as it was, I will remember him as the caring individual he had been and consider his misfortune a tragedy.

The worst part of all the stuff that went down in the following days were all the people crying and skipping school that didn't know the kid. There were people that had heard his name a few times through the grapevine that were walking down the halls in tears. I thought it was pretty horrible.

How would you enjoy your fame if you're dead? So it would be pointless to do it to achieve fame.

It happened to one of my distant cousins. Her family is damn narrow-minded. She was just found talking with a boy, outside her college and they pracically imprisoned her in the house. They used to constantly abuse her, and reprimand her in just about everything. They even used to beat her (though not that much). In the end, she just burnt herself alive. And the idiot parents didn't even cry on her funeral, saying that she was not a good daughter.

This may seem far-fetched, but in countries such as Pakistan these cases are in abundance.

Some people just do not want to live, end of story. Sure, some other people might not understand why she didn't want to live, but that's none of her concern. They don't NEED to understand, because that's not their business. It wasn't their life that just ended, and it wasn't them who wanted to die. Someone who wanted to die died, and that should be the end of it. No need to glorify them or demonize them. They knew what they wanted to be, and what they wanted to be was dead. So they had the balls to go out and get what they wanted.

I don't think Suicide is cowardly at all. Its not my place to judge other peoples pain or problems. If that person was given help for whatever mental issue they have and still wanted suicide then they should be allowed to. Its your life and you should be able to choose when to end it. What I do think is cowardly are people who kill others before suicide. But Suicide in itself has no need to be judged. Its an option along with the hundreds others we have.

At least everyone will know your name and won't speak badly of you. Sometimes you just want them to stop, but they never will. When you realize that everyone you love has already rejected you, it could drive someone to suicide..

I really dislike that feeling, it's why I fear heights.
