In my case, the same: Try to find a wife and reproduce.
And of course get all the cool stuff.
And what about you Gamespot forum users?
Probably get high as balls tbh, not like I have anything else to do.
I'd also make friends, take over some really big comfortable house, and try to live life as normally as possible.(This is assuming there are no zombies and everything hasn't been destroyed)

This is a massive, time consuming hassle when the apocalypse isn't occurring; let alone when it actually is. The only thing you're going to need to worry about in moments like that are survival and finding food/water.
To me, the apocalypse mean a gigantic asteroid is about to hit the Earth.
I'd probably glare at it until I'm vaporized.
Well, it's the end of the world. So, I might as well sip my favorite wine and wait for that explosion or whatever to kill me too.
Depends on what has happened, survival rates, level of lawlessness etc. If defences are needed and taking property would be easy enough then I'd take over a castle like Bolsover in the initial confusion. Good walls, great defensive position with a large keep that would be very comfortable for a large community to live in. Even space within the walls for a bit of farming. Have to raid a few weapon shops along the way, try and get an arsenal together.
If things weren't quite at that point then just pitch in with the local community, help get food, water, shelter, etc. sorted. What else matters if you aren't in any immediate threat. Probably safest to get some sort of defensive plan in place in case of raiders or whatever though.
you guys'll find out

.
just keep it up...
lol, agreed! Most people are going by what has been seen in the movies, but you better believe it's probably going to be much worse.
Whether science or religion is right, it's not anything to laugh at, either way, I'm not going to allow that threat to effect how I live my life today.
Die, like everyone else.
A truly "apocalyptic" event would wipe out humanity and all life on Earth. The post-apocalyptic sub-genre of books/movies/games is fantasy.
Don't know why people romanticize this concept so much.
Indeed. I think it probably comes from the idea of "surviving" in a harsh environment. Maybe it's because we don't lead difficult lives anymore and biologically hearken back to a time where we often lost against merely the forces of nature?
Personally, I sometimes enjoy games/books/movies that take advantage of this trope, showcasing humanity's so-called "fighting spirit" to stand against even the highest of odds and come out victorious. However, anyone with some sense would know that anything that could be considered "apocalyptic" would likely mean the end of everything. It's easier to just accept death than to fight a losing battle.
Statistically I'll probably die.
smart answer.
for some reason everyone thinks they won't be one of the zombies
Only the riff-raff will perish in the apocalypse, of course.
The wealthy are already buying up space in "doomsday shelters"---self-sustaining, sumptuously furnished, subterranean shelters in which they expect not only to survive any apocalyptic event, but to live in luxury.

Here's a promotional video for the "Vivos" company that's building the invitation-only, billionaire-club bunkers ...
And here are a few pics of some of the furnishing options.
For the post-apocalypse billionaire family, a home-theater is just one of the bare essentials ...
@Stesilaus: And when the "rabble" left after the storm come across the ventilation shafts of these places, all hell will break loose.

Tempting, but i still rather do it with the A team plan.

Why people like you seem unable to let people have fun confuses me more. Buzzkill.

I already said I enjoy post-apocalyptic literature, movies and games, or did you not read what I read?
It's called being realistic. An apocalypse is not forgiving to life.
I would look for shelter and food. Then I would look for those who might need help or those to group with. No matter how terrible or catastrophic the event may be I would absolutely never give up or quite trying to survive, regardless of the odds.

I read it, no need to get all defensive. You were being a buzzkill, this thread is within the boundaries of fantasy, just relax, don't point out the obvious and have some fun.

It's a common theme in movies, books, and video games.
Anyone remember that scene in Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World where Rob Cordry hosts an apocalypse orgy and does drugs and pretty much anything else that would kill you? Seems like that would be happening a lot. People would have nothing to lose.
Your immortal soul!

Well, yes. People write those movies, books, and video games. Thus, why I'm wondering why people romanticize the concept.
Probably attempt to snuff it. Maybe do a little sprint drop off the a table in order to get the snap.
