Both are incredibly bad in their own ways.
Having quite a bit of foreigners in my family (as well as my family associating with a lot of them), I know just how annoying national pride can be.

Can be just as bad. Can lead to a developing of a superiority complex. (eg. The people I know from Eastern Europe that come over here to Canada and leech off of government assistance yet continue to spew bullsh!t about how their country is better and holding stupid grudges against people that disagree).
