I sure am. Going to see the movie on Wednesday and then getting the book at midnight launch. This is gonna be the best Harry Potter summer ever!

I am, I can't believe the movie's only two days away now. I'm much more excited for the book though, despite the fact that there'll be no more after this:(
But still probably the best book series of all time. m1k3mjust because something is popular does not make ti the best book series of all time....my advice....read more...

I'm more excited for the Book. I've been wanting to read it for a long time.
And I've seen all the other movies and I have the books. But I am not too psyched about the movie. I'm just watching it cause I've seen the others.
[QUOTE="sonicare"]15 years ago, yes. Now, not so much.

Harry Potter wasn't around 15 years ago, was it? :?
No, the first book came out a little over ten years ago.

no, it's not a pinnacle of literature, but it is of storytelling, which is different. I think that's the reason for the success of these books

okIm really psyched! More for the book than the film of course! I cant wait to see how the series concludes but i also know im going to be gutted when i finish the book- im so used to "waiting for the next one" that i wont know what to do with myself!
Im also pretty excited for the film.
1) cause me and a group of my pals go to the cinema on day 1 and always have loads of fun, laughing at Daniels horrid acting (goblet of fire, when he brings Cedric back to Hogwarts was the BEST moment EVER!!) and swooning over Tom Felton/ Christian Coulsan/ Emma Watson (in the guys' case).
2) because there are actually some decent actors in this film such as Helena Bonham Carter who will play Bellatrix...perfect choice imo! Good actors make all the difference in Harry Potter, seeing as the kids themselves can't act- David Tennant made Goblet of Fire worth watching, even though he had a screen time of about 10 minutes.
3) Harry gets grumpy in OOTP with everybody inc Dumbledore... i HOPE they have Harry getting all upset after he returns from the MoM cause thats one of my fav chapters in the WHOLE series.
The movies have been really bad since the first one, and the books have been decent, I suppose. I feel sorry for those who watch the movies but haven't read the books, because the movies are just travesties. By all accounts this one is quite bad. I've seen some preview material, and ugh, the script is terrible, the acting merely OK... meh. I'd say the movies are decent fantasy movies but really bad Harry Potter movies, if you understand what I mean.ZinkOxide
I agree all the way. The first two movies gave me the same vibe as the books, but not all of the details. But I thought the 3rd movie sucked. It felt creepy, not magical. And The Goblet of Fire movie had nothing but the Triwizard Tournament. At least it was a little better than the 3rd movie. Now I just don't really care about the movies anymore, I'll just watch them to watch 'em. The books are 1000 times better than the movies and I hope people who haven't read the books don't judge them by the movies.
