I have been waiting for this moment for a long time. I was not a fan of Blair, I am however a big supporter of Brown and the Resurrection of old labour. The pre budget report gave some real hope. Described as the most socialist move since new labour.

Thoughts?

I'm reserving judgement on Brown. I don't think he comes across well, but that's not what matters, I suppose. :P

And hey, anything's better than Blair. :P

Bring back old Labour! The last thing we need is more mediocrity (new lab), glazed-over conservative idealism (torries) or nonesense (lib dems, BNP, UKIP, they're all a bad joke)

I can't help but have a certain fondness for the Lib Dems. I wouldn't vote for them, but they seem like nice people. ^_^

We all thought New Labour was great, admit it! Until we realised our economy was based on: "hey what u got there?", "well it ain't money", "ahhh pfft! Sure ya do, all you gotta do is... IMAGINE!!!" *breaks into song about made-up money, fails to identify with problems such as not having money to begin with*

Hey, that sounds like the dot com "new economy" from the 90's; "No, we have yet to make any money but we have awesome mindshare!"

I can't help but think that the lib dems should just start promising nonsense. Like: "Vote Lib Dem, we'll make dinosaurs come back and invent time travel". No one votes for them anyways, and at least it would be entertaining.

I do support old labour and I do hope Brown will be a good PM. Well, you can't get worse than Blair.

I don't mind the goverment owning the banks to support them though they should still be run by CEOs, the goverment would just loose the banking documents or somin. We should be more consevtive, there are way too many handouts in this country.

No thanks. if the conservatives get in, education and the NHS will go to **** and the poorer people are just gonna be screwed. For everyone that abuses those handouts or lives on the dole, leeching from the government, there are 10 people who without that money wouldn't be able get back on their feet, or wouldn't be able to raise their kid, or would be out on the streets begging for change. People need that stuff, and society needs those people to get it.

Well i'm not a big fan of the NHS, it shouldn't care for people that smoke/drink/eat themselves to death. Even if the consevatives do et in handouts will only be pulled bakc a little and the NHS will stay though there'll be a cut in imigration so the people who were on the dole can take the jobs they would get.

"Immigrants are stealing jobs of british workers" it's a myth I'm afraid. If an immigrant is getting a job in the UK, it's because british people don't want to do it. And i don't know about you, but if i were an employer choosing between a keen, cheap, motivated polish worker and a british worker who's only looking for a job because otherwise he won't get dole money, I know who I'd pick.

I'd be happy if they'd force immigrant workers to adhere to the same minimum wage laws as British citizens; otherwise they're just undercutting us and we can't do a damned thing about it.

Maybe now there will be some variety now instead of both major parties being centre. Hopefully the UK will get out of the benefits society that we are in. Make people work for their money or if there is actually a legitimate reason for them not to be working, there should a strict screening system to stop people who just lazy from claiming benefits. More money should be put into the NHS to make a good health service, raise taxes on alcohol so its not dirt cheap ad hopefully discourage binge drinking, stop pouring money into helping smokers, drinkers and drug users. The one thing that annoys me most is the school system. Unless you go to private school the teaching is aimed at the less intelligent. I'm only 15 but I know that I'm not being pushed at all. Teachers lavish their attention on the troublemakers and let the more intelligent become bored and unmotivated as I have become. I admit not all teacher's are like this as I have a few that are great, but they still go at a slower pace than I would like. Hopefully this will change next year when I start my Highers and a lot of the troublemakers are thrown out. I doubt it though.
