what happens to the students from previous/further years?

I mean...lets say that harry is in 3rd grade...where are the 4th graders and the 2nd graders? where do they sleep? because for example, griffindor has craploads of people, yet the men dorms are not bigger than my living room...there are like 14 beds...yet on the mornings you see around 70-120 students...so do they sleep on the lawn or what?

and like I said...the people from previous/further years dissapear...its only harry's year.

oh and do harry and hermione know about math, science, biology...because I dont remember seeing a math teacher in hogwarts...

I don't know about the dorms thing but as for the science and math, they have a class called Muggle Studies.

It looks better for the movie. It probably wasn't meant to be that way when JK Rowling was writing the book.

I reckon the dorms are in several levels, and has more than the room you see in the movies. When I read the books, I imagine it's a GIANT sleeping hall for each house, one for the girls and one for the boys of course, in their respective 'towers'. A bit like a military bunker, with bunk beds on row. Maybe the older students have their own sleeping dorm, like the prefects have their own part of Hogwarts. And they have Muggle Studies, as far as I remember.

the architecture doesnt seem to show that...and its a tower, and if you see the stairs to the guy dorms, there is only 1 dorm, having other men dorms located somewhere else would be unnefective as they could be close to a girls dorm.

They aren't going to build the entire movie set. They only basically showed Harry's year since the books are about him. But that is how the school is set up. Each year there is a dorm for the guys....and a dorm for the girls. And they stay in the same dorm until they are finished.

Hogwarts has around 300 students total. I would explain the maths, but my nerdyness has already reached mega0high lvels today and I dont want to make myself cry. But, bascially Harry's year is the ONLY class of that year. That means there are only 7 dorms in total for the boys in Gryffindor and they are on multiple levels in the tower. Considering they'r in a huge castle, I say there's enough room for everybody

Anytime you notice something like that, a wizard did it.
