Hey, guys. I need some help. I need songs that tell stories in them. I listen to any and all genres of music, so post whatever you have.

Ayreon's "the human equation"Â
This whole album tells a story. I don't own it, but what I've heard of it its pretty good.Â
Deathbed by Relient K tells the story of a Christian as he reflects back on his life on his (you guessed it) deathbed. You can search for the lyrics on http://azlyrics.com. It's an amazing song that shows that Christians don't always have the best of lives, like some people seem to think.
Even if you aren't Christian, you should enjoy it. :)

Thanks. I love Relient K, and I have this song already, but I really appreciate the fact that you mentioned a song about my religion.
As my thanks, I award you a cookie. (::)

You sir, have listed my all-time favorite song.
I have a lot of cookies. Here, take one. {::}
Oh, and no one has posted any yet, but PLEASE NO DEATH METAL!!! I hate that stuff. I like metal and nu metal, but death/black metal offends my religion. I even have "Kill You" and "Kim" (both horrifically graphic Eminem (my favorite rapper)songs) on my iPod, so I listen to anything but black metal. slimturtle
Not all death metal talks about the anti-christ and such.Â

The only one I can think of is Rush's Red Barchetta.
EDIT: I take that back, also look at 2112 and Cygnus X-1, both, also, by Rush.Â

Tool's "rosetta stoned" is a strange song about getting abducted by aliens :?blooddemon666

Such a good, yet sad, song.
Reba McEntire - The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia
It's a country song, but it is really good. :)Â

Couldn't it be argued all songs tell stories?Sajo7
Fergie's 'London Bridge' was a story? :oÂ

Yes. It was a sad story of how my faith in humanity died when I heard it.
There's a lot of older singer/songwriters that have great stories in their songs....
Jim Croce - Bad, Bad Leroy Brown, Operator
Simon & Garfunkle - The Boxer, Mrs. Robinson
Gordon Lightfoot - The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald (based on a true story)
Â
Of course, if you want something a bit more modern, there's always
Eminem - Stan
