I just got this sleek looking phone. I love the features and all that but two things are making me a little frustrated. I have an MP3 filethat I want to use as my ringtone but its not letting me set it as that. Whats going on here? As far as I know the phone should allow any file that can be played by the media player, within the phone, to be set as a ringtone. Also, in the manual it shows a sony ericsson feature called TrackID. When I look for this in my phone I can't find it. Anyone have this phone? Any help would be sweet! Thanks!:D

I don't have that phone, but I did have a similar experience with another phone, the Helio Ocean. It turned out that i couldn't use any of my own files as ringtones unless i purchased it or downloaded it from their exclusive service. You might want to see if your phone has the same limitation.

For me, that sort of stipulation is a deal-breaker, especially on higher end phones. So I returned the Ocean.. such a shame, too, everything else about that phone was sex :(

Rogers and Fido do this to their cellphones, they have it so that you have to buy the ringtone instead of getting a FREE custom made one. I got around this buy using a .WMV file as my ringtone.

I'm thinking about returning the phone too...:( Sony has a free feature and I can't even use it!

My last phone was with Fido and my bros phone was with rogers, we shared a couple ring tones over bluetooth and they worked fine. When I do the same thing with this Sony it doesn't work.

you could do that if your brother bought the original ringtone.
