AHHHHH!!! I need to vent: This morning is the first day of ****s, and it's the fourth year for me to stay in the dorms. In these four years, I have had few complaints about the living conditions because my school has gotten four new very nice dorm complexes recently. It's basically like staying in a small two bedroom apartment on campus. Anyway, my first ****this morning is at 9:30 am and I planned on waking up at 8:30. This morning I was woken up at 6:30! The *&#@ing yardmen were mowing right outside my window. I'm normally a very heavy sleeper, but dorms are not built to be sound proof. By the time they quit, which was 7:00, I was wide awake and couldn't go back to sleep. I have never been more enraged! Being down in Southeast Texas, it gets hot, and I understand the point to starting yard work early in the morning, but they aren't paid to be comfortable and they aren't paid to be an alarm clock - I invested in one myself! So if they want to start early, then they should start on the other side of campus away from people who are sleeping. AHHHHHHHH!!!!!! I feel much better now.

Why is it that in almost every post I see of yours, you're being rude to someone?
Anyways, this probably was best for a blog...but if it helps, I know how annoying it can be to be woken up by loud noises. It can ruin your whole day.
Try working at night during the week and trying to go back to a daytime schedule on the weekends. Your body get so screwed up you can't sleep for more than 5 hours at a time. I would kill to get a full 8 hours...

I should also add that I work 12-hours shifts at a chemical plant on weekends and I have a part time job during the week. I'm not complaining about waking up early necessarily, but the fact that people are so inconsiderate to those who happen to be asleep. That's all.

I'm one of those people whose sleep schedule never gets messed up. When I fall asleep, I'm asleep until something wakes me up. It's both a blessing and a curse.

Rude? I think the TC was rude for expecting the workers to work in the heat of the day because he wants to sleep in. Reality check...most of the world is up that time of day.

I can understand being awakend when you are very tired ..but you said you where wide awake after that little while.. so be happy you just earned a extra couple of minutes of daytime without being darned tired the entire time.

You could always invest in ear plugs that will cut out the low pitch sound of the lawn mower but not block out the high pitch sound of the alarm clock...

I guess I should've just posted this later in the day so that all the folks that want a badge because they wake up early every morning because they can weren't the only ones awake.
Junior and Senior year should be spent living off campus, and if not, at least senior year should be. Living in the dorms for 4 years is just silly!Mumbles527
