That's not even the end of this **** either. There's still that Protect Children from Internet Pornography act (not sure I got the title 100% but it's close) which has a name that immediately should send up alarm bells because it's right away pulling the "think of our children!" card. It's contents are pretty scary from what I've read and it's one of those things where opponents can just go "do you WANT people to be able to make child porn!?" (inb4 KMX) despite it having some pretty messed up contents in regards to internet freedom. Basically these dicks, and it's not even just in the US for ACTA at least, don't get that people want a free and open internet and that archaic overbearing fear mongering isn't the way to resolve the minor issues that exist on the internet.

No, Megaupload being shut down had NOTHING to do with SOPA. Megaupload was being watched for a while. Do some research and see the things the higher ups at megaupload did. It was a good takedown. Nothing SOPA related.

That one is the most f-up. Its was in the works for the last 4 years behind closed doors. In Poland everything that the Government ratifies has to be put up on gov's web page in the legislating process. ACTA was hidden on the 40th page of some seafishing act. Its design is pricless. Article no 5 states that after ratification articles can be changed without the Gov. by the newly Appointed Acta committee.
