South Park or Family Guy? Your pick and why?

Two of the more popular cartoons that are aimed at mature audiences. What is your take and why?

Me personally? I don't see how any self respecting South Park fan can enjoy Family Guy! Yea, I said it. South Park is great because it pokes fun at society, cultures, and current events. The best part, though, is that they make fun of all sides. Trey Parker and Matt Stone do not press their views. Family Guy can be alright at times, but I think too often that Seth McFarlane is saying through the show, "This is what I think, and it's right. You are ignorant for believing anything else."

yeah that definetly gets annoying.

I enjoy both but south park is the better show IMO.

South parl because it is better written, and overall it is just a much better show that gets better with age. Family guy just get dull to me now.

South Park for its social commentary and generally intelligent writing

Family Guy simply for the cheap, plentiful laughs and "oh no you didn't" giggles.

In the end I prefer Southpark, even if it can get preachy and up its own ass with messages :P

Also South Park pokes fun at the structure of Family Guy during an episode when Terrence and Phillip goes off the air. One of the boys says something like, "I guess we'll have to watch American comedy now." Their television has Family Guy on it and Peter Griffin says (as he and others do alllll too often, as the episodes aren't really funny so they have to throw these in), "This is almost as bad as that one time that (insert random thing here)." The structure of Family Guy isn't too clever.

None of 'em. Haven't enjoyed South Park since 1999 and was never a fan of Family Guy.

I love em both.

I like both a lot, but laugh far more when I watch southpark.

South Park is far far better. I've only had a few chuckles from Family Guy, but for the most part it comes across as random humor.

Well, McFarlane obviously doesn't know what he's doing anymore, and every season of South Park I watch, the cleverness and satire of the show never dissipates. I still enjoy Family Guy from time to time, but I like South Park more.JustPlainLucas

New Family Guy has been pretty bad. South Park has been hit or miss lately, but more hits than misses though.

I enjoy both, but South Park is just too dang funny to compare to Family guy. They just cross the boundaries with every episode. And it's hilarious.

south park by a mile. It's edgier, and not only entertains me with off the wall and mature humor, but it has also attacked political issues in a metaphorically devastating manner.

Honestly i don't think family guy is that great. I think it's just the Simpons but more provocative. I think it also relies too heavily on things that have become such cliches such as "this reminds of of the time i (insert activity here) with (insert celebrity) here. Also, the chicken. I never found that funny, but the fact they abused it so much really made it wear down quickly.

i enjoy both. but saying south park doesn't press their views is absurd. it seems family guy is becoming "to cool to be cool" anymore, but you're a liar if you say you don't laugh.

Also, the chicken. I never found that funny, but the fact they abused it so much really made it wear down quickly.

Family Guy never makes me laugh anymore.

South Park.. oh LMFAO still love that ****.

South Park by miles and miles and miles and miles and miles and miles...

I like both, but I can see south park not being funny in 10-20 years while family guy will probably be just as funny. Too much of South Park is based in current topical humor.

South Park has some funny episodes, but I hear people talking about it sometimes like its the funniest thing in the world, when its not always.

I for some reason am more of a Family Guy guy. The brand of comedy just fits

matt stone and trey parker don't enough credit for how good the writing is on south park. it's much smarter then family guy. twelve years ago i never would have put smart and writing in the same sentence when talking about south park, but thats how good the show has gotten over the years.

I like Family Guys randomness. But I think I prefer South Parks humour a little more with how they pick on popular culture so well.

I enjoy South Park more than Family guy but still enjoy Family Guy...shame there isnt a choice for that :\

I used to like family guy but after watching 10 or so episodes it really becomes redundent. Fart jokes for the sake of fark jokes are meh. South Park is much more witty as it contains a lot of social satire.

I usually lol at South Park and sometime smile with Family Guy but often FG just annoys me with sophomoric humour I remember from middle school.

I like them both, but I like southpark more. Family guy just depends way too much on random jokes, and repeat jokes. They'll always have some kind of topic in an episode, but they could just as well do without it, because it's just a nuisance between the random jokes. When southpark takes on a topic, they'll actually make jokes about the topic. Also south park got/gets better with time while family guy is quickly running out of steam. Southpark moved from simple characters with toilet humour to more varied characters (butters instead of kenny, randy etc.) with some more intelligent humour.

I like both of them. If I had to choose one it would be South Park.
