So I guess in order to be politically correct governments are making ridiculous changes in the wording of various documents. Among these changes, Spanish birth certificates no longer say "mother" and "father" they say "Progenitor A" and "Progenitor" B. In England the gay activist Group Stonewall (I bet the General would be mad if he knew about them) has put forward a suggested bill to the Parliament where documents relating to marriage no longer would use the words "husband" or "wife" but would instead call them "parties to a marriage" (what a weird phrase). So I guess no instead of saying, "this is my wife" people should say "this is my co-party to marriage".

Sounds good to me. And marriage is a silly and outdated ancient ritual so weird phrases seem fitting to me.

Colloquially you would still say "husband" and "wife" if you are man and woman. If you need government documents to reaffirm that in your brain, then you have bigger issues than gay people getting married.

Same here. This a great move if you ask me. Also, can't you just say "partner" instead of "wife/husband?" It's not like marital titles matter.

partner is too broad, it can refer to people who aren't married or to business partners. Heck one corporation can even partner with another or one country may partner with another in a coalition like the coalition that went into Iraq.

Many words with broad meanings are included in laws and you just get accustomed with the special meaning they have in such contexts. It's not a new thing.

Good one.

Although I dont know if in modern times many people still do the kneeling thing. I'm hearing a lot about hiding it in weird places. Like in a glass of champagne.
