Why do you think GameSpot was down completely last night/yesterday?

I say they are implementing new features.

 

P.S. Did anyone elses level stayed the same?

CNET was still working...I think...

CNet itself runs on a different server set, but I didn't check that... anyways, GS, TV, and MP3 were all down.

Points are calculated at a certain time during the night, but it usually works despite maintenance. I talked to one of the former developers last night, and he said he'd never seen that error message before... someone may have pulled the plug on the operation. :?

I say it was lobsters. They invaded the CNET offices, implanted themselves into the servers, and are ready to pounce out of the internets and invade our homes. On a more serious note, I think it was just a huge crash, or something unintentional. None of the sites, as far as I know, have yet to offer an explanation, and anything this big would have been forewarned of. Yet another pointless and obvious analogy from me.

Routine maintenance usually involves an announcement... and doesn't involve a message from CNet. :P
