I'm watching the 9th episode of the 7th season of HOUSE. In the beginning sequence, a man jumps onto some train tracks to help a woman who's lying unconscious on the tracks. Would you do something like this? For example, would you try and push or grab someone who's about to get hit by a car or bus?
Honestly, if there was a real risk of it costing me my life, no.

I'd say yes, but when the moment is there I would probably chicken out... If I know I would make it then I definitely would.

That actually happened you know. If there was a chance of actually saving them I would try. Obviously if the train/car is about to hit them then it's too late.

It depends on the amount of danger I'd be in. The first rule of trying to save someone is don't do anything that will make it so that someone has to save you too.

This. Or if they need a body part from me that could significantly lower my life span, hell no...

I would do whatever is in my power... I am in a wheelchair, so I am not exactly going to "jump" to someone's rescue... But if someone is near me and like not paying attention or walking backwards on their phone or something and are about to trip on tracks or walk into traffic I would put my arm out and say watch out...

If it were a dog though... I would magically make my legs function properly and rescue the dog at any cost.

Dogs are superior to humans. Especially small dogs.

I know what episode you are talking about and I probably wouldn't have the guts to do what that guy did. I would definitely pull somebody out of the way of traffic though which is a much less dangerous thing to do than what happens in that episode.

Also that guy's wife is a b****!

No, and most people won't. It is very difficult to put yourself in harms way in general... let alone for a stranger

I'd risk myself for any person I know, even if remotely. I wouldn't be able to stand myself if I lived knowing that I could've prevented someone's death.

I'd love to say I would, and I think I would but when the metal meets the meat I don't know if many people could.
