It's about friggin time. I was wondering when they were going to change it. The new one is amazing!!! They got Cee Lo to do the song!!!!!

Yeah, you don't do make changes like that after 10 years. This is just more proof that spongebob is dead. BTW I don't see anyone else in this thread showing love for that garbage opening either.

Nnnnah that version is ****. I think Spongebob is a good show for children, but the whole pirate singing the theme song bit was an appropriate way to set the mood for the show. Something about the way Cee Lo sings it, you can tell he's just reading it and not playing the part.

Spongebob always had a warm, nice feel to it that made you feel like you belonged there, in a way. This just makes you feel creepy, and scared to go anywhere near that damn water.

That wasn't...terrible... You can clearly see that they're going for the Flapjack/Chowder vibe, though. Bad Nickelodeon! I wanna know why they wanted to change it after 10 years.

lol!!!!! I gotta admit, that was hilarious!!!!!!!! Even though I love the new theme song, I can see what you are talking about at the very begining and at end of the song. In the begining, the creepy pirate looks like he has two teeth for nostrils, and at the end, Spongebob nose is a trumpet and then he starts to play it.

Err, well that wasn't very good. The guy's voice didn't go too well with the theme, or at the very least not with the beginning. And the animation was ... just not Spongebobish either. If they had kept the original pirate's voice though, the animation probably would not have made as bad an impression.

I stopped watching Spongebob a while ago, so it doesn't really matter to me at all. I was just pointing out, that with all the recent changes to the series, the one thing that has always stayed was the theme song.

No actually I agree. That was probably the worst intro I've seen in ages aswell. Why they changed it I have no clue. But then again like you said it is just the intro. Aslong as the shows don't start looking like that I will be fine.

Ew. I never really watched the much but I think everyone knew the original theme song pretty well and I liked the old piratey sounding one a whole lot more than this one. It's...it just feels like it's trying to hard or something like that. It's just off.
