*shrug* It is up to the sort of market they exist in. The players and owners figure that out themselves.

Football because it's the most work physically and it generates the most revenue. Baseball players shouldn't make more than minimum wage.

I'm biased, but I agree lol. Of course salaries in respective sports are determined by the popularity of the sport, but if you want to base salaries in terms of toughness and what the athletes go through, I'm going to say ice hockey is on top. Football is not far behind though.

Well if you want to throw in all these different sports, than Rugby should be up there too.

Soccer/Football (To me) As it's apopular worldwide sport, unlike Hockey, American Football etc.

It simply brings entertainment to more people.

I think soccer players have the highest salaries, especially in Europe. Cristiano Ronaldo is on like £300,000 a week?

In terms of worldwide popularity: Football

In terms of risk: Indycar racers and skateboarders

In terms of effort and dedication: figure skaters, gymnasts and marathon runners

I personally don't think athletes should be getting paid as nearly as much as they do. Especially Tiger Woods, basketball players, and baseball players. I agree they should be paid in the low millions but I am sorry Tiger Woods does not deserve half of what he makes, he hits a fricken ball into a hole... However, a lot of his money is endorsments and advertising so I guess its different.

You don't understand how the PGA works do you? If Tiger wasn't so dominate he wouldn't make all that money, in golf your earnings are based on your performance. If any athlete deserves the money they make than it's Tiger Woods.

I know that I am saying there shouldn't be as much money at stake in golf in the first place. Not denying his immense talent, he should be looked up to, idolized, but not paid as much as he is. Think about it, he is hitting a ball into a hole.... Say that to yourself out loud, you see the ridiculousness, and it will make sense. But damn is he amazing at it.

No one has done more for their sport than Tiger Woods has. When he broke out people everywhere started golfing. He brings in the huge crowds at the events and is directly responsible for all the young talent that is now emerging on the tour. I am a fan of all sports but think most athletes are overpaid, maybe Tiger's endorsement deals are silly but that is really Nike's fault, his tour earnings are justified.

I understand that. I guess I'm attacking golf in general then.

Sport isn't important to me. Players who bring in more money, make more.
