Not much of an article at the moment, but apparently it's now official:

I'm looking forward to it, what about all of you?

New director for next Star Trek
After seeing you're reply I Google about it... Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, two writers of Into Darkness are writing and directing the next film... hope they do good, I kind of feel the last film really forced that whole bonding with Kirk and Spock, they need to make it more organic.
@I-AM-N00B: What do you mean "If"? It's 100% confirmed, there is a new trilogy (VII, VIII, and IX) to wrap up the Skywalker Saga, as well as spin-off movies, TV shows, games, come 2015 we are going to be seeing a LOT of Star Wars.
@MirkoS77: There was a time I would have agreed with you on that. But look at how great Marvel movies have been since Disney picked them up, I have strong hope for the future of Star Wars, been bought by Disney might end up been the best thing that ever happened to it.
i think episode VII is the wrong direction for it.
they should go back to the old republic
Old Republic is being covered quite well by the video games.
A Darth Bane era movie would be significantly more interesting.
I didn't liked Star Trek (2009) and I would bet this is going to me a unmitigated disaster.
I'm looking forward to seeing it because George Lucas isn't involved.
Be careful what you wish for.
so is J.J. Abrams going to juggle both Star Trek and Star Wars?
Huh? What do you know about Star Trek that I don't know. I like Star Wars, but Star Wars aint got shit on Star Trek to me.

Yes the Darth Bane books were awesome, would love to see a movie based on the first one. I think it would be a little to dark for Disney though

Disney approved the song "Hellfire" in The Hunchback of Notre Dame... they'd approve of a Darth Bane film.

Could be, but it I were to bet I'm betting on the side of these being on par with the prequels, or even worse. The absence of Lucas gives me some comfort, however.

Ahh, my childhood. Nothing like reminiscing about a murderous old priest singing about how he wants to bone a twenty-something woman wile simultaneously mourning his existential terror of burning forever in Hell.

I never had the privilege of that song in my childhood. I grew up (i.e. became a teenager) during the period it came out, so I showed little interest in it. Had I known it was Tony Jay voicing Frollo, I might have had a different opinion at the time (Tony Jay has been one of my favourite voice actors sine ReBoot).
I discovered the song (among others) recently watching a "top-10 best Disney villain songs" video. I'm still amazed it (and Frollo's behaviour throughout the film) ever made it past Disney's quality control board.
