Jimmy Smitts mentions the memory wipe at the end of Episode 3. I forget hius character name, or the ship they're on (but it;s the same ship we see at the very start of Episode 4).

I'm pretty sure that the place where Anakin's mother was living is different from Uncle Owen's place.

The ship is the Tantive IV, aka Rebel Blockade Runner.

It's the same place. Shmi married Cliegg Lars, and Owen Lars is his son.

Ya it was in Episode 2, though they never show Owen's dad in Episode 3.

Hmm it seems you are right. I'd guess the memory wipe is the correct explanation.

Shmi married a guy named Lars. I think Lars is a friend of Owen.

Owen is Anakin's step-brother, making him Luke's step-uncle, if I remember it correctly.

C-3PO had his memory wiped after Episode III, and R2-D2 never met the Larrs. R2 was only searching for Obi-wan, and they never learned Luke's last name.

Everyone should stop focusing on the Clone Wars stuff and make make 3 movies out of the Thrawn campaign. That would kick some ass.

Yes, R2 did. I think one thing to keep in mind is that R2 can't talk basic, so it really doesn't matter what he knows.

Personally, I just don't know how Darth Vader forgot about them... I mean, he SAW them at one point, and you can't memory wipe a person... lol

Well, C-3PO could translate, but R2's not exactly conversational, he's not going to tell Luke things he doesn't need to know. I think there actually is some cannon EU material where R2 shows Luke a hologram of his mother and tells him a bunch of stuff, but R2 knows how to keep a secret whereas 3PO is likely to blab it out at some point or another.

True but C3po can understand it. However r2 seems to know when to keep his mouth(speakers?:P) shut which is maybe why nothing is said from R2..

That, and C3PO would just think he's talking nonsense.

True. Jimmy Smits only says to have the Protocol Droid's memory wiped.

Wait, how can you have spoilers for the Star Wars movies? Hasn't everyone seen them all by now? I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'.

Also, if they can make a Clone Wars cartoon, which I enjoy BTW, why couldn't they give the same treatment to the original trilogy characters after Return of the Jedi?

I have a question too!

how did they managed to have the same Anakin from episode 3 at the ending of the final movie (Return of the Jedi) when the first 3 weren't even made and the movie was released 2 decades before episode 3? He looks exactly the same, face, hair, etc.

you watched the remastered version, where they literally chopped Hayden into that scene, originally it was someone else.

Never mind I read the actor's wikipedia. It says his head was replaced in the 2004 re-release.

I can rest in peace now.
