Which film series do you think is better?
And by Star Wars I'm referring to the original trilogy. The good one.
Also please don't say Indiana Jones or Harry Potter or anything else. Just pick between the two!

LoTR is about two young men new to manhood being forced from their homes by dark forces. Their stories are ended once said dark forces are destroyed.
Star Wars is about a young man new to manhood being forced from his home by a dark empire. His story is ended once said dark empire is destroyed. Also, his sword is made of lasers.
Star Wars, easily.
i love both :D, but original star wars trilogy pretty much pathed the way for epic trilogies so i choose that.
but lotr comes before the new star wars, easily.
LoTR.
The end of Two Towers, along with the entire Return of the King (I'm talking extended edition) are some of my favorite sequences in film.
Star Wars.
Star Wars all the way! I found LOTR really boring...tofu-lion91
This. The graphics weren't my thing. I know its an old film but EP IV being really old still feels natural to the background of the characters. LOTR seems like fanfilm. Characters not matching the background or something. I couldn't sit through the movie for some reason because it felt "off" if that makes any sense to anyone.
This, i love Star Wars, and as much as i like Lord of the Rings.. it isn't as good IMOStar Wars, Empire Strikes Back is one of the greatest films of all time

The old series of Star Wars was better for me.. For Lord of the Rings.. The series began going down hill for me after the first one.. I loved the first one, the second one was good more or less.. The third one I just didn't care about.. It was ridiculous battle after ridiculous battle.. With some bad one liners.. "I am no man!! HYAAAAAAA!!!".. The movie suffered from serious narrative problems in which they were trying to cover entirely too many branches at once..
Though I wouldn't put either one as a must see imo.. I honestly think Indiana Jones (the first three) was more enjoyable experience to me than these two series.

^Completely agree. Star Wars is a more enjoyable watch over LoTR, but for the best balls-to-the-wall movie watching experience, it has to be Indy.
Am I the only person who doesn't really like the original Star Wars movies? LotR for me, but if it was all 6 star wars movies then they might get my vote...
