hello what movies in the star wars series are worth seeing? I loved the Sith i am REALLY confused as to what order the movies are being made in, it is almost as bad as the batman series were. I get that the Sith was a prequal. Now what about the others? what are in order and worth seeing? i saw some were made in 1970s.. are they worth looking at now? i just want to know enough so i can start to play some of the Star Wars games.

The origional 3 were (in order)

Star wars: A new hope (although you may see it just called "Star Wars"
Star wars: The empire strikes back
Star wars: Return of the jedi

These are the best star wars films, much better than the new ones. That doesn't mean the new ones aren't worth watching though. They are (in order):

Star wars episode I: The phantom menace
Star wars episode II: Attack of the clones
Star wars episode II: Revenge of the sith.

These are all prequels to the origional trilogy

Star wars: The empire strikes back (good)

Star wars: Return of the jedi (good )

These are the best star wars films, much better than the new ones. That doesn't mean the new ones aren't worth watching though. They are (in order):

Star wars episode I: The phantom menace (absolutely terrible)

Star wars episode II: Attack of the clones (pretty terrible)

Star wars episode II: Revenge of the sith. (decent)

These are all prequels to the origional trilogy

Fixed with ratings :P

Almost as bad as the Batman series? What? Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, Batman & Robin. Batman Begins, The Dark Knight. It's not that hard...

Chronologically, the Star Wars are Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi. Unfortunately, the other three movies won't be done...

Yea, throw in the Vong. They could probably make another 3 based on that era.

I seem to remmember rumours about making one based on janga fett (sp?) he's a bounty hunter which you most likely wont have come across yet.

and in all honesty i dont get all the hate for the newer ones... I liked them! apart from jar-jar binks, he can go and die a painful death.

Lucas said if his current Star Wars TV series is successful he might make another series set during the KOTOR days...

actually, the new jedi order is really interesting. The jedi gain power in the galaxy then the Yuzzahn Vong (sp?) come and conquer the galaxy.

Your going to want to see all of them if you want to follow the story line, but the original trilogy is the best.

i think what you heard about was the live action TV series, Jango Fett is supposed to be a major character in it.

where have you been the last thirty years? They're numbered in chronological order. 4-6 came out in the 70s, 1-3 came out recently. But the order chronologically according to the SW storyline is 123456.

It is best to watch them in order of release. The prequel trilogy only spoils some of the bigger revelations of the original trilogy.

Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope (1977)
Star Wars: Episode V: Empire Strikes Back (1980)
Star Wars: Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (1983)
Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999)
Star Wars: Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002)
Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005)

All the movies are good (the prequel trilogy if you only see them once each). If you wish to become involved with the Star Wars universe it is best to see all the major canon created by George Lucas. Only after you become familiar with the foundation do you start building on top of it with the Extended Universe.

I want them to purchase the Star wars KOTOR rights and make a movie over that.. I'd go see that in a heartbeat!ferrari2001

LucasArts owns the KotOR IP... >_>

And even if they did make a new set of films it would have to be in the New Republic Era. That is where most of the EU source material exists and would make making a new series of films simpler and much more accessible to fans. The Yuuzhan Vong invasion would make for an EPIC movie.

Yes, but there are 21 books. How the heck would you condense that into three movies? How would you go about choosing which events to portray?

The whole saga is famous for pretty bad acting, the fans just don't like to admit that everyone in the original trilogy is a terrible actor too. Han Solo and Lando Calrissian had good actors but that's it. But in the new trilogy there are better ones and worse ones. Liam Neeson pwns in episode one, and Ewan McGreggor (all 3) is clearly carrying a lot of the less skilled actors. Also Anakin (2 and 3) gets WAY more flak than he deserves. There were some bad lines, but that's not his fault, and there were far more in the original trilogy. He did it very well.

Watch them in the order everyone else did, because the jump from incredible special effects to awful ones takes a lot of the flavour away if you watch them chronologically.

You're not a true fan if you enjoy watching the prequels
