Anyone else ever take it?

How long does it take to star working? All my Doc said was that I'd have to be on it at least 3 months. He also said I'd have dry mouth and skin and lips, possibly w/ nosebleeds.

I know it'll prolly suck, but I'm only on 40mg and the results should be worth it.

That stuff is the worst... be prepared to use a lot of chapstick every 5 minutes. My acne got worse before it got better but about a month in, it started to clear and now im 100% clear.

This is exactly what happened to me as well, I swear it changed my genes because now I have chapped lips all the time. I took it around 4 years ago, no acne since then as it started working pretty much right away. I love the drug would take it again if I had to, it worked like a charm.

Also, it made my joints hurt rather bad so I had to stop playing soccer.

When I was about 15, I had the real bad acne problem. Doctor put me on Acutane, dried my face and lips to the point where I stopped taking it.

**** that drug. My acne went away on it's own so it's cool. I'm sure the drug works, but it's just not worth the dryness and irritation imo.

Damn. how long did it take for all that to set in? So far only 4 doses and I'm fine.

I heard that some people's irritations are so bad that it kind of messes with their minds lol.

Well to be fair I had a really bad reaction to it... There's no guarantee that the same thing will happen to you, as a matter of fact it probably won't. Most people can take it normally but I just couldn't it really irritated me. You'll definitely notice the dryness and stuff, though.

That happened to me too. Even now after a whole year that I've stopped taking it I still get chapped lips all the time for no apparent reason...and yes I also got the aches on my joints as well. Although after about 6 months it did clear me up I'd say 95%

It works, I never had acne after wards, but chapped lips was annoying but it was a 100% worth it. Just put chapstick or w/e on your lips and lotion on your face.. I would just carry it around with me and I was fine.

Everyone has different side effects/reactions. A friend of mine is going to take and he's pretty worried that it will affect his weight lifting with sore joints. Also, depression and mood swings are sometimes common.

weird side effect. I wouldnt take that **** if it messes with you like that. I have never taken it, I never had a bad acne breakouts, just minor ones and they usually went away withing a week. I clean my face everyday so I'm glad I do that instead of take that Accutane stuff

My doctor offered it to me but I turned it down. If you take it long enough you have to go in to have blood work done. It puts a strain on your kidneys. I am taking minocylin and using retinin gel. It works pretty well. All acne medicine will make your skin dry up and the acne usually gets worst at first. My skin still peels from time to time and I've been on the stuff for about 8 months.
