Note For Future Reference: I know how to design a whole webpage from scratch.

I needed some help on starting my own blog. I don't mean on GameSpot I mean my own website with my very own blog. I saw that there's blog sites out there but I dont want my address to be www.blog.com/MyVeryOwnBlog I want it to be www.MyVeryOwnBlog.com. Would I simply just buy a domain from a website like www.hostmonser.com or are there companies that sell domains form blogs especially? I mean, it would be a pain to ReImport and RePublish my site for every post I make.  And what about people posting comments? How would I set that up? Thanks for reading.

Any help is appreciated

The question of my topic wasn't what is a good Hosting Website. It was "How do I go about making my own blog on my own website"

so If I can get some responses aimed more towards that question I'd appreciate it.

Mostly just for projects and my future resume. (I'm a student).

I thought about starting my own blog but I mean the so-called "blogosphere" is already crowded.

You need a domain and some webhosting. You generally want to get both from the same company because it's chaos if you try to transfer them.1&1, which I use, can give you a domain and webhosting for 3 dollars a month if you buy beginner level linux hosting (just 40 dollars a year). I hear they have bad tech support (hence why they are so inexpensive relative to other services), so you are going to want to know what you are doing if you plan on going with them.

If you want to buy hosting from someplace else just make sure it includes a MySQL database and PHP support (wordpress along with everything else cool requires them). All of the 1and1 linux plans come with them, but it's not standard everywhere else.

It is possible to host a website on your own computer, and just pay for a domain name which you would bind to your address, but that's going to be nearly impossible for your average computer user to set up. I wouldn't consider that option unless your dad's a SysAdmin or something.

Buy your domain. Design your page. Code it.
