Stereotypes about your home country?

What stereotypes are associated with your country?

I thought of making this topic after watching this video by this guy who seems to think all Americans have ignorant of other countries.

Ironically, I think he's the ignorant one...

Heres some stereotypes about my country:

We all drive Ford Trucks

We all wear cowboy hats

Everybody is fat and eats fast food

We think we are the only country in the world

I live in America so stereotypes about us

Life is like Hollywood portrays.

Half the country is getting divorced.

We're complete fatasses and lack a brain according to most stereotypes.

Canadians are hicks who live in igloos and like hockey. Although I must say that I have a generally friendly disposition, eh?

Our sterotype? *sigh*...

- We supposedly eat fish, wear parkas, and live in igloos with nothing to do. And I'm white, too...

I'm from America. The stereotypes are: most the people are fat. like things big. rude.

I know people who are like this, but I know most other industrial societise can get those stereotypes.

I live in the U.S. and I had a Japanese teacher that came over from Japan and was generally shocked that nobody in the class owned or carried any firearms.

No one knows the exact location of the country. Everyone's antisocial and shy, except when they're drunk, which we are for the most part. We also shout cursewords that sounds funny and go to the sauna all the time. There also are polarbears and lots of snow here. There aren't any big cities, everyone lives far from each other and nearly meet any neighbours. We also are russiankillers.

• 14th century setting even though we're more advanced than some countries in the west*all thanks to oil*

That was about people who've never been to my country. But those who have been to Kuwait think:

• All people are rich
• All people are snobs

That's not true. Most people are middle class who are obssessed with having the life style of rich people and live beyond their means in order to attain that.

I'm from Ireland, and well, most know the Irish stereotypes...

-Leprechauns

-Rainbows with Gold at the end of them

-Everybody is an alcoholic and is mostly drunk (Which is kinda true)

-Farmers with pigs under their arm walking down country lanes.

-Bandy legged farmers from Cavan.
