Holy crap...I always feel so uncomfortable watching these things...it's embarrassing for the host and humiliating for the "winner" who spent a bunch of time waving at people.

Also, isn't Steve Harvey the host of that Family Feud show thing...? He's a goofball...why would he be hosting Miss Universe anyway? XD And if I were Miss Philippines the first thing I'd do would be to walk down there and give the other girl a hug...that has got to feel shitty.

@korvus: This is going down in history as the dumbest announcer mistake ever. I hope it ends his career, because that was not funny. I believe he did it on purpose. He is on that funny show, yes. Crazy man, wow. Miss Columbia should have body slammed him. Korvus back in the house ! Cheers mate.

@LexLas: Not sure if he did it on purpose but unless he forgot his reading glasses it shouldn't have taken him 2 minutes to realise his mistake and wait for the dramatic moment to come clean with it. His apology was really weak after ruining the moment for the 2 girls. "Don't hold it against the ladies"....we won't dumbass, they're not the ones who can't read a card with 2 lines in it...

I literally do not care about this at all, and even I can't believe he did that. What a bastard. Should just let a third-grader read it next time.

I like Steve Harvey, but this was bad. I feel sorry for him and the two women and for the pageant. It was the biggest moment of the year for them all and it was embarrassingly ruined. I still like Steve Harvey, so I hope he recovers. Even though Miss Colombia was the runner-up I think she may actually do better than if this never happened, so there's the bright side for her. Miss Philippines is the true winner, so there's that for her anyway. It's like one of those wedding day disasters that everyone laughs at later.

Is he going to lose his game show job over this? Will he lose his talk show?

They should have done some kind of improv on the spot, like Steve asking for the crown back, the woman refusing, and Steve ends up chasing her around the stage, Looney Tunes style.

He has a talk show ? Lol .. I don't think anyone will laugh at this later that is related to Miss Columbia, or the Colombian Country. Is it Columbia, or Colombia ? Man i don't know, but i'm sure they are not laughing. This was too cold. If it was a joke, he is done. Hope it wasn't. Devastating for the runner up. Although i have to admit, she handled it very well, very professional. She deserves something for being so good about it. By the way, Miss Philippines is dam fine ! Very beautiful, and that's coming from me, a Spaniard saying it.

I feel bad for him and the two women involved but it was just a mistake. People are getting carried away with this. We're all human and we all make mistakes, no need to tear him down over it.
