what do you think?
is it sort of a "duh" thing, is there some deeper reason for the results, or is there a good reason to doubt the polls themselves?

Meh. Every person can be considered "misinformed" to someone else. Liberals think conservatives are misinformed and vice-versa. Conspiracy theorist think everyone is misinformed. BreakTheseLinks
Which causes me to question the reliability of the poll. If they state that their intention is to find out if Fox viewers are misinformed, I'd say there's a good chance that they will. Remember this poll was probably conducted by liberals anyway.

It also included CNN and MSNBC.

Polls are usually worded to get the desired answer...Honestly, I find it hard to trust any major news outlet. Everyone seems to have an agenda.I've always been amazed by the amount of people who watch Fox News.

Polls are usually worded to get the desired answer...aka straw polls. And they are onloy worded to get a desired answer when they NEED to get a desired answer. You won't find the same tactics being used by national organizations polling the public on issues concerning public policy and the like.
I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out this is true. That being said, The Young Turks are one of the stupidest political commentary shows I have ever seen. Every economic argument I've ever seen Cenk Uygur make is a logical fallacy. Ever single one. That's a feat in itself. And that's just coming from the thousands of clips they choose to put on youtube. I can't imagine the stupidity they don't upload from their show.Rhazakna
yeah i get pretty frustrated by them sometimes. idk about their econmic views, but i watch the show more for the social issues they bring up and i disagree sometimes and wanna yell at them for being so biased.

you seem to be want to assume alot about the poll.

Well I would really like to learn. (Sorry, but I couldn't watch the video because I can't stand TYT)
This was done by a devision of Harvard University.. To claim they are liberally bias is quite absurd.. Especially with the questions they asked them.. sSubZerOo
Ah ok, thank you. The way that TYT treated the issue and the result led me to believe things. Probably should have known better anyway, those silly Turks...

A bit surprising I suppose.
WHAT FOX NEWS MISINFORMS PEOPLE?!
Not really hard to believe,I mean people take Glenn Beck seriously. Some poeple even think Sarah Palin is smart, and would make a good president.
Persoanlly I think people that think like that have a mild form of mental retardation,or they drink to much Fox News Kool-Aid. Not to say there's a better one out there they are all bias, and bought.

Good to know you think most conservatives in the eastern US are mentally impaired....

Yup,and I bet they think the Noah Story happened literally.
Wait...I smell bias (as is always the case with polls like these). One of the questions asked if the Stimulus Bill lost jobs...how the hell can you prove this right or wrong? It's the same line of thinking that you can somehow measure how many jobs were "saved".

Glenn beck is the same man who said that excercise and a healthy diet were liberal lies and conspriracies, how can anyone take that seriously[QUOTE="GreySeal9"]
Not surprising. Fox News is pretty much the poster child of crappy "news" channels, closely followed by MSNBC.
Phaze-Two
apparently MSNBC viewers were the most well-informed
Anyone that uses only a single source for their news cannot be well-informed. Major news outlets like to report what they want and how they want to report it.Wait...I smell bias (as is always the case with polls like these). SpartanMSU
Not only that, the question seems to ignore the difference of opinion between the varied economic schools. Someone may believe that even the "created jobs" are a net loss because of the broken window fallacy. This point can be debated, but to say they're wrong because of job statistics from the government ignores the possible nuance of their opinion.
I could watch MSNBC, CNN, CNBC, FOX and my local news 24/7, and I still wouldn't know what the hell was going on half the time.:?

I agree 110%! All news is about is ratings now, there is no real reporting. It's all about money not truth anymore.
It's really sad that people actually take Fox news seriously.chrisrooRAnd in someone else's perspective, they think it's sad that you don't take it seriously. The liberal media (CNN) could be considered skewed as well.

Yes but at least I don't see CNN put stuff like this on:

All polls do that....who did the study? what are their biases, credentials?
I would say that anyone who only views one News network is likely to be misinformed about something. It's best to watch two or more, for instance I watch (well actually skim, news seems have been getting more boring in the last couple of years) both Fox and CNN.

It's the Young Turks. In other words, you can brush it off as liberally biased nonsense.
I did a little digging. Here is the study itselfhttp://www.worldpublicopinion.org/pipa/pdf/dec10/Misinformation_Dec10_rpt.pdf
I haven't read the whole thing, but the questions themselves (they are in boxes to the right) seem fairly straight forward. Although I don't yet see where it says anything about which news station these viewers watch.

Anna is an Armenian, only Cenk is a Turk. But you should try to watch it, he actually dosn't like Obama much anymore (he basicly called Obama a Republican the other day). Please Log In to post.
