what do you think?

is it sort of a "duh" thing, is there some deeper reason for the results, or is there a good reason to doubt the polls themselves?

I *think* this is the same poll that was posted here a couple days ago. Anyway as I said there, this comes as no surprise to me.

Meh. Every person can be considered "misinformed" to someone else. Liberals think conservatives are misinformed and vice-versa. Conspiracy theorist think everyone is misinformed.

Which causes me to question the reliability of the poll. If they state that their intention is to find out if Fox viewers are misinformed, I'd say there's a good chance that they will. Remember this poll was probably conducted by liberals anyway.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out this is true. That being said, The Young Turks are one of the stupidest political commentary shows I have ever seen. Every economic argument I've ever seen Cenk Uygur make is a logical fallacy. Ever single one. That's a feat in itself. And that's just coming from the thousands of clips they choose to put on youtube. I can't imagine the stupidity they don't upload from their show.

WHAT FOX NEWS MISINFORMS PEOPLE?!

Not really hard to believe,I mean people take Glenn Beck seriously. Some poeple even think Sarah Palin is smart, and would make a good president.

Persoanlly I think people that think like that have a mild form of mental retardation,or they drink to much Fox News Kool-Aid. Not to say there's a better one out there they are all bias, and bought.

Wait...I smell bias (as is always the case with polls like these). One of the questions asked if the Stimulus Bill lost jobs...how the hell can you prove this right or wrong? It's the same line of thinking that you can somehow measure how many jobs were "saved".

Anyone that uses only a single source for their news cannot be well-informed. Major news outlets like to report what they want and how they want to report it.

Not only that, the question seems to ignore the difference of opinion between the varied economic schools. Someone may believe that even the "created jobs" are a net loss because of the broken window fallacy. This point can be debated, but to say they're wrong because of job statistics from the government ignores the possible nuance of their opinion.

Not surprising. Fox News has a conservative agenda, hence they don't cover stories that hinder that agenda, which leads to their viewers being misinformed on a lot of issues.

I love the straw man polls; take a view you personally believe and then skew the results to match what you were hoping to find out. I could make a "study" to show that CNN viewers are communist and then get the results I want to make it seem true.

who did the study? what are their biases, credentials?

I would say that anyone who only views one News network is likely to be misinformed about something. It's best to watch two or more, for instance I watch (well actually skim, news seems have been getting more boring in the last couple of years) both Fox and CNN.

I did a little digging. Here is the study itselfhttp://www.worldpublicopinion.org/pipa/pdf/dec10/Misinformation_Dec10_rpt.pdf

I haven't read the whole thing, but the questions themselves (they are in boxes to the right) seem fairly straight forward. Although I don't yet see where it says anything about which news station these viewers watch.

Ah ok, thank you. The way that TYT treated the issue and the result led me to believe things. Probably should have known better anyway, those silly Turks...

Anna is an Armenian, only Cenk is a Turk. But you should try to watch it, he actually dosn't like Obama much anymore (he basicly called Obama a Republican the other day).
