As the title suggests, what do you listen to when you fall asleep. I usually listen to a high quality audio of a thunderstorm or some soothing piano. The high quality thunderstorm audio was recorded near where i live and it's the only thunderstorm audio that will actually put me to sleep. I guess other audio of thunderstorms are not as familiar and wont put me to sleep.

Rain is nice but I like sleep hypnosis videos on You Tube. I find certain female voices very very relaxing.

The TV. I usually have it on very low so I can only hear mumbles and I have it on a 15-45 min sleep timer. Speaking, breathing and heartbeat (if I were to be so close to somebody that I could hear it) or my cat purring/breathing helps me sleep.

I put in 3D rain into the search bar. I have seen them range from 5 minutes to 10 minutes.

I have moved on to white noise, such as a fan on low. Sometimes just hearing the computer fan is enough. TV and such tends to annoy me unless very low. But pure silence is hell.

Sometimes I'll be listening to my mp3 and I'll fall asleep though, if that counts... >___>

Podcasts, usually. I have an old set of earbuds where the left one is dead, so I fall asleep with one in my right ear. I keep them under my pillow as they serve no other purpose but to help me fall asleep.

Whatever I feel like listening to that day. Every genre is covered by yours truly, unless there is a genre that specifically is distasteful in terms of lyrics.

I have to have silence in my room when I'm trying to sleep. If there's music or something on it keeps me awake 'til it's over.

I listen to podcasts while lying in bed most of the time. If I listen to music it is either shuffle (which I don't do very much anymore) or I put on The Cure- Disintegration. That album is great for putting me to sleep.

I usually just have the TV on to some repetitious news broadcast so that the white noise keeps my brain from noisily focusing on many things at once.

Nothing, if I have my way. I do like listening to the rain. But my wife likes to fall asleep to the TV, which I end up listening to, so I set the sleep timer for 30 minutes and she'll fall out.

I usually can't get t sleep with any significant sound in th background, but if I were to it would probably be post rock, particularly Mogwai. I find the genre as a whole rather calming.

While I used to sleep with the tv on low, nowadays I find it impossible to sleep in anything but silence. Even the fan on my pc bugs me to no end if I leave it on. I wish I could listen to relaxing music, but It'd just keep me up. Listening to music is a good way for me to stay up late.

Everytime I lie down and listen to The Queen is Dead by the Smiths I always fall asleep. Sometimes you just need to listen to a good crooner with a soothing voice. R.E.M is always good too especially Automatic for the People. Siamese Dream by the Smashing Pumpkins always has a powerful effect too when it comes to relaxing. Try some of those albums out if you think it will help.
