I think you should watch "My Dinner with Andre". It has everything -- wild ritualistic (almost cultic) ceremonies, giant creatures appearing out of nowhere in unlikely places, possessed flags with swastikas on it... just about everything. One of the two main characters is even buried alive, somehow escaping.
It's action-packed!
