I'm in the mood for new music right now. My favorite melodeath bands are Hypocrisy, Insomnium, Amon Amarth, Ex Deo, Persefone, Arsis Be'Lakor, etc. I need moar

Yeah they kick ass. I still don't much like deep growling vocals ... Do you know of Strapping Young Lad?

If you like Ex Deo you'd probably like Kataklysm (Ex Deo is their side-project), then you've got your Arch Enemy, In Flames, Dethklok, Norther and Heaven Shall Burn. Several people suggested Children of Bodom, and I must concur.

Yeah I don't like Winds of Plague much, but I thought I'd throw that out there. How about some The Faceless.

Well he's kind of right. Children of Bodom, Dethklok, Arch Enemy and new In Flames are garbage in my books.

I reccomend Kalmah. 'Swamplord' and 'They Will Return' are perfect albums to start with.

At least you're understandable...and no, I don't like Arsis. I am not a fan of the riffing style at all.

The Crimsons are masterpieces...but I'd say they are more progressive death than melodeath...

I've only heard Crimson II, and the whole album is melodic. It's one of those bands who's imposibly to cIassify, like Agalloch

Among the Stars

I don't really know if this is Melodic Death, but i freaking love this album, more than any Children of Bodom or Arch Enemy album, i almost like it more than Wintersun, check it out, it's pretty damn good, to bad the band is dead now.

Try Arghoslent. They play some excellent melodic death metal, though they tend to come off as being quite racist in some of the lyrical content, which I'd imagine may turn you off of them.

Check out Neuraxis. They're an interesting combination of melodeath and the Quebec brand of brutal/technical death metal. Great band.
