If you had to choose for the world to be eternally in sunlight or darkness, which would you choose?

Darkness. Everything is way more fun in the dark. I rarely do anyhrting besides chill during the day. At night things get crazy.

Don't see why anyone would choose darkness, paying triple your electricity bill, freezing cold all the time, and it's not like it's impossible to sleep in light, just shut your blinds...

Darkness. But to be fair, both extremes would end in the destruction of society. But hey. The question is just about which I'd prefer, so, darkness.

Its a hypothetical question, one that assumes the world being different, for

example, electricity and heat being generated from mixing soil with water.

Yeah, this is true. I would pick darkness otherwise, although it would get kind of creepy. But with eternal sunlight it could evaporate our water supply :o

Err, that's not really how it works. Sunlight ---> Evaporation ---> rainfall No water is ever truly used on this planet. We drink the same water today that T-Rexs did millions of years ago. As for the topic, sunlight. I can use a blindfold or shut the blinds to sleep.

Sunlight. I can block my window if I need to sleep. And people only get more depressed the longer they are deprived of natural light. I've experienced it myself...

An eternal night does sound appealing but I'll go with sunlight.

But eternal Twilight (Dawn or Dusk) would be even better.

Whichever will have the most negative effect if we lacked it. In terms of the enviorment and stuff. Which I figure to be sunlight.

Darkness. 24 hour sunlight would drive me insane. And we can artificially make light, it would be harder to make it dark.

sunlight cause i can just get some thick curtains and shades to achieve the level of darkness I require for sleeping. Or.. go below ground for teh sleeps. Sun also cause with total darkness you would think it would get pretty cold. Which would suck cause I freeze to death already.
