Sorry for the title, but they kept being taken.
I can, but only on the surface. I was never good at diving. It's also been a long time since I've swam, so I'm wondering if I'll still remember how to, just in case I'm ever on a boat that sinks or something.

Let's put it this way...if I fell into totally calm waters, I could keep myself afloat for a few minutes and/or manage to swim awkwardly to shore (if the shore is only about 50 feet away).
Any other situation, and I'm probably ****ed. I mean, I can technically swim, I'm just VERY bad and inefficient at it. Even in optimum conditions, I waste energy and tire myself out quickly.
And then factor in that I tend to panic if I'm in water that's too deep for me to stand in and still keep my head above water. That panicking ****s me up even more, and that's bad.
Bottom line: in perfect conditions, I can swim. I just can't swim very well. In anything other than perfect conditions, I can't swim.
