You have to build up your reputation from the ground up and it's very hard to do, I wouldn't have recommended switching HSs nuless yours really sucked.

On the plus side, you have a clean slate to work with. You'll probably have that added effect of being the "mysterious" one and use it to your advantage. Just be very sociable and things should be fine.

And it is much better that you're switching at the beginning of a school year rather than in the middle of the year...

Kind of a broad question. But the only thing I can say, is that you will be tempted to make your own reputation larger from the get go, so just be yourself, don't lie or make yourself seem more tough or manly than you truly are. Unfortunately, many do, and create the idiocy that High School boys are known for.

Well, I moved from NY to NJ during the summer between 8th and 9th grade. When September came, I only knew 2 people in my high school, my cousin and his friend that I met during that summer. To make new friends, I decided to be a bit social by chatting with a few of my classmates. Eventually, I became well-acquainted with a few people who introduced me to some of my current best friends.

Judging from my experience, all I can recommend is that you do not become reclusive. Associate yourself with people who you think would be friendly toward you.
