I played a Mexican Strat at Guitar Center and wanted to get it, but it didn't have 24 frets. So I decided to get the Ibanez.

nope brand new. its a 2005 Gibson Les Paul Custom 1968 Reissue. i got a great deal. its usually around $4000 for them but i was able to talk the guy down and i also traded in my other baby, my old Gibson SG 1961 Reissue. (man i loved that guitar) but the new LP is great, the only thing i dont like about it... the thing weighs about 16 pounds and kills my back when im standing with it. lol

those are nice too. the first gibson i bought was a studio. there lighter and considered the "lower" model gibsons. but they still sound and feel great. and a still very quality instrument. but for the price a gibson LP studio cost, you could get a very nice epiphone les paul custom. really for that price ur really just buying the gibson name, u can get a nice guitar.

Get a real one... you will be much better off. Two months with mine and I am already playing 5 of the 8 songs from Black Sabbath's album "Paranoid". Not to mention a ton others.

Just do it, it is a rewarding experience.

I got mine with an amp, stand, tuner and other accessories for $280 CAD after 13% tax.

yeah, i live in canada and all prices for guitars are so inflated.  the shops that are in my area don't even carry high end models, so i have to order them straight from the factory at the list price. it's really hard to get any percentage off on the guitars i purchase

thats to bad. just get yourself something NICE, if ur serious about learning to play. i couldnt tell u how many people i know that have squiers and kmart guitars thats collect dust. buy a nice guitar so it gives u a reason to learn to play it. plus u want something that can accually hold a note and u dont have to retune every five minutes.
