I knew someone on a high school basketball team that was 6'5". However, one of their opposing teams had someone that was 6'8" and he's actually one of the NCAA's best basketball players today.
I grew up playing basketball so I knew a lot of tall people... I'd say 6'11'' was the tallest person that I actually knew. I've played against someone who was 7'3'' before but he wasn't too great at basketball. I also have another friend who is 6'9'' and he can't dunk a basketball :|
