You should do your taxes...it will be really simple. You'll probably get most of the money back.

Um, I'm not sure. I actually have owed money when tax season has come the past two years. But I'm 17 now and I make a lot of money for a kid my age.

If taxes were taken from your paycheck and you have your W-2, you must file an income tax return.

Sorry, my bad. I thought you were filing US taxes. My advice is ask your employer or your parents, if you had taxes taken from you depending on how much you made you should be able to get a refund.

As a Canadian, you would have likely recieved your T4 from your employer in the mail. It will indicate the total deductions made from your pay for 2007 (as we are filing for last year). If you do know know how to file your taxes, see Service Canada for more details.

If your income is less than the claimed amount on your TD1 and TD1 provincial tax forms (in your case, I would think it is unless you made a large sum of money), you will likely get all your deductions back as a tax return.

...Are you in Canada or South America?

If in Canada, you get refunded any taxes you paid if you did under 9000$ a year or so. And even after that, you don't pay much... I think it really starts costing you at 25 000/year
