After reading this I think it had had more to do with his over religous parents. Some of those religous people can be overly harsh when it comes to certain things.

It has nothing to do with that.
The guy who killed his parents is obviously insane.
If someone kills someone over a video game, that means that person is crazy.
It has nothing to do with religion.
"Defense Attorney James Kersey said that when the teenager fled the grisly scene, he only took one item with him: the "Halo 3" game."
you gotta be kidding me...

However, what you consider 'insane' is vastly different from what the legal version of 'insane' is. Because he planned it for weeks, that showed the court that he was in a perfectly working, capible mindset, and was aware of his actions. Had he done this right after the game was taken away, then that would have been a different story. However, as far as the preacher part goes, one could think that the kid really didn't voice up against his parents, that his views weren't the same as his father's, which could have led to some previous encounters.
the blame should and still be on the parents i am tired of games being blame. "its easier to blame someone else than yourself"fbigent34No, in this case the blame is solely on the kid. Christ, he is 17.

It's always the parents fault. Didn't you get the memo? ;)
"I firmly believe that Daniel Petric had no idea at the time he hatched this plot that if he killed his parents they would be dead forever," Lorain County Common Pleas Judge James Burge said.
OMG killing someone makes them go dead?

No, the blame remains with the boy. He's the one who pulled the trigger.

Wow I didnt realize his dad lived, I thought the kid killed them both. Thats bizarre tho a dad gets shot in the head for taking a video game away from his child and the dads all like "meh its all good ya know, I guess I wont discipline him as much, and with his mother not around anymore we can stay up all night in our undies." then they both jump in the air and heel click and a picture is taken forever capturing them in the happiest moment ever. And now his dad can make conjigal visits to his son in jail, and they lived happily ever after.[QUOTE="fbigent34"]the blame should and still be on the parents i am tired of games being blame. If the parents didn't want him to play it, then that's their rule. Just because they have rules different from other parents doesn't mean that the blame falls on him. The parents didn't want their son playing that game, and, IMO, this probably wasn't the first time, it must have really sent a signal to the kid, which caused him to do what he did.
