On the gamer side of things:

It sounds dreadful now since it plays on the old Playstation Midi player. But Final Fantasy 8 saved the best till the very last with the epic battle vs Ultmecia. The music that kicks off while the fight gets more and more ridiculous, to the point where she's destroying planets in the solar system to get at you. In it's day that tune was so epic, it got the blood pumping on most gamers and many fans have tried to remake it.

If they did an orchestra version i'll like to hear it. As it stands at the moment you got to be a real geek to appreciate it, but just listen to how the tune kicks off at 1:40 which is the point where the creature is fully emerged and the fight kicks off. How they made that Midi player sing.

Awesome.

As for movies:

I never forget The Neverending Story, Bastions flight. Most epic indeed. It's timed perfectly during the movie, during a scene where the second protagonist is flying through the sky on the Luck Dragon.

My brother likes the Ergo Proxy theme a lot. It's quite appealing when seen with the introduction as it's very well timed with the animation. On that note, I love what happens during 1:18 to 1:31 that would make a great motion signature for someone.
